Referee: Steve Bennett

(Ass: Nigel Bannister, Robert Madley, 4th off: Peter Walton)

This has been the one fixture in our run in that has always made me nervy, having said that we've played Brucey in our final two fixtures in each of the last two seasons away from home and we've always done the business so I'll go with a 1-2 win

Berbatov

Nani Flecther Scholes Valencia/Giggs

Evra Vidic Evans Neville

Van Der Sar

Subs: PIG, Hargreaves, Rafael, Giggs/Valencia, Carrick, Macheda

Neville in for Rafael probably going to be the only change.

Have a feeling this is going to be a right tight nervy game, bit similar to the one at Ewood Park.

This is a game we really could have done with Rooney. We will probably need Chelsea to drop points in 2 games because I can see us dropping points here like the Blackburn game..

Chelseas 2 games prior to this game will have a huge influence.

If they win both we're going to be 4 points behind before the game....and they have an easier looking game to finish with so that may affect us....a few dropped points and we'll be buzzing.

We could even win the league in this game if Stoke AND Liverpool do us favours.

feck, im up in the mountains for the weekend

ohh and the liverpool game is before ours?

apart frm bent, who's their most influential player this season?

Malbranque has been excellent lately, generally most things we create comes through him and Gordon has been in very good form aswell, Hutton will be suspended unless his ban doesn't get rescinded which is a blow for us. I'm looking forward to it should be a close game and a good atmosphere.

I wouldn't be totally devasted at you lot winning as i would rather Man United to win the league than Chelsea and I'm not just saying it because this is a Man United forum.:smirk: I still hope we thrash you mind!

Bit worried about this game, looks like Rooneys out for sure, Valencia came off injured today i hope hes ok for next week, Ferdinand? not a clue if he'll be back or not as well as this sickness that seems to be around the camp affecting Nani and Evra today. this added to Sunderland having a strong home record this season i think this game will be very tough.

If alls well hopefully we'll be able to go with:

Van der sar
Neville Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Valencia Fletcher Scholes Nani
Giggs
Berbatov

If Valencia isnt fit and Rio still isnt back then maybe:

Van der Sar
Neville Vidic Evans Evra
Fletcher Scholes Carrick
Nani Berbatov Giggs

if Chelsea draw their next two, we win the trophy if we beat Sunderland.

I said elsewhere...I have a feeling this may happen.

We have always struggled to go to the Stadium of Light and win. It is a tough place to go for any team and considering they have a good home record, I hope we dont lose like Arsenal did to Wigan. Everybody considers us as favorites and I hope we live up to that expectation.

It is going to be a tough ask especially without Rooney. I think Berbatov did well today and Macheda changed the game a bit when he came on towards the end. I dont think we should play two strikers because the defense needs help with Bent firing in on all cylinders. Here's hoping that Bruce will field a pretty weak team.

Such a big game. Their home form is good, but then so was City's, and Arsenal's when we beat them.

Narrow United victory.

Well the difference in those games is that we had Rooney. For the next game, we are not going to have him in the lineup. So we are a very different team without him.

Prediction:1-2 win for us. Berbatov 2

I said elsewhere...I have a feeling this may happen.

If they drew 2 they'd go level on points with us, so 3 points for us against Sunderland wouldn't quite win it....we need Stoke to pull off a draw and Liverpool a win for that to happen.

:wenger:

What on Earth? If Chelsea drop points in any game and we win ours we win the title. Simple as. We don't need Chelsea to drop points in 2 games. Just one game will do it if we win our games.

What's our record like at the Stadium of Shite?

Macheda got the winner in a really tight game and we won 2-1 last year. We were truly shite that day .

We won 4-0 the year before that with Ronaldo Rooney Saha (x2) scoring.

I think before that we played them before 2006 when Ruud had scored when we won 3-1.

Calling in agent Bruce? ;)

In all seriousness though if Chelsea beat Liverpool at anfield moments before we play this one i think itll be all over and i think the players will feel that to.

I think the result of this one will depend on what happens at anfield, if Chelsea drop points we'll win it.

Yeah, just had a quick look-up as well. Won our last three trips there, and can't find anything before that but those games don't matter as much as the recent ones. Chelsea with no Premier League win at Anfield for five years, and us beating Sunderland at every recent attempt probably means feck all in the long run, but it's something to point out.

If Chelsea beat Liverpool, then I think it's as good as over anyway, so we should just give Hargreaves a run out in the last two, if that's the case.

feck I thought we played first. I agree then.

On the other hand, if Liverpool get something, we should be fired up more than ever.
