Sunderland v Manchester United

If you're going to have an attitude like Berbatov you have to back it up with something special. He's a let down.

Bring on Macheda in the second half Fergie...the lad deserves a shot with Rooney.

How the feck has Bennett not booked any Sunderland players?

Even if you let play go on, the Cattermole and Cana challenges are yellow on any day.

How this cnut is even playing professional football is beyond me. Nothing but a dirty thug.

1-0 is too risky, sunderland will come at us, need a 2nd and kill them off.

Just been saying the same thing here, I like him but man alive he really does make a rod for his own back sometimes.

The bad thing today is that both his shooting and his all-round game have been off.

I can (sometimes) forgive him wasting a chance if he at least plays well in the build up.

I still feel sorry for him though. He was doomed from the start with that price-tag.

Good half otherwise. Sunderland aren't laying down and we have still been fairly comfortable. Expect a few more second half. Hope to see Kiko get his chance. Berba has had his, and I hope we are seeing the last few games of his united career.

Don't get me wrong...good player, wish him the best of luck, but he's never going to fit in here and we all need to accept that.

How is sarcasm like clapping your hand at the ref more of a yellow than to tell a ref to feck off? English refs need to straighten this out. You can't tell the ref to feck off anywhere else.
Saying that, Sunderland should've least gotten 3 yellows by now. Cattermole trying to stop a counter, Bardsley's stupid challenge on Evra, Cana taking Nani down from behing and Malbranque studding Nani's ankle.

Perhaps. But regardless of the price tag, as a striker he just hasn't done enough. We create more then most teams in the world and for Berba to only get 12 goals in a season is shocking.

Lampard and Gerrard have 20, and they're midfielders...

Sorry, it's just not good enough.

Can I just point out to all the Berba-bashers, that if his confidence is shot - taking him off at HT is not going to help. Would rather see him stay on and then see Macheda for Rooney around the hour mark - give Rooney a rest and keep him fresh for the Stoke game.

N.B. - Unless we're losing, then bring on Macheda for a defender

I do feel sorry for Berbatov, the guy just has no confidence. It just isn't working out.

Doesn't suit our system, reckon he would be brilliant at a team like Arsenal where they have a number of attacking central midfielders coming all over. We rely on pace and power from our wingers unless they're as consistent and wily as Giggsy.

Berbatov..... Ok... He must be on our top 5 list of "The worst transfer ever"... I mean.. considering the price he is number 1 in my list....

The sad thing is, if Owen or Diouf were fit, Berba would probably be 4th choice. For a 30m quid player that is just not fecking good enough.

Obviously that's not true in the slightest though.

Would be a bit depressing if it was, but it's not. Not even slightly.

Anyway, back to the game...

Nani's been the best of the lot by quite a bit I think.

Berbatov's been quite poor all-round, unusually.

Rooney's been energetic and promising but still very wasteful, found space time and again though.

Giggs has been very wasteful but could've scored a cracking goal.

Fletcher and Scholes both very good.

Defense haven't had to work very hard except when they've been closed down on the ball.

Berbatov's scored more league goals than any other second-choice striker this season though, including Anelka.

Depends what you base your expectations on.

They both take penalties though. Berba would be a 20 goal a season striker easily with penalties.

Still he doesn't score enough from open play, but it can be forgiven if he plays well. He hasn't today but often he does.

Still got the 2nd half. Would love to see him score.
