CHARITY SHIELD: Chelsea vs. Manchester United; Sun 8 August 2010

i expect rooney and owen to start. If fit Fabio should get a chance

Kuszczak, van der Sar; Brown, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Neville, O'Shea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic; Carrick, Cleverley, Fletcher, Gibson, Giggs, Nani, Park, Scholes, Valencia; Berbatov, Chicharito, Macheda, Owen, Rooney

Hmmm

Maybe mind games are at work here:

Van der Sar; Neville (c), Vidic, Brown, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs; Owen, Berbatov

Subs: Kuszczak, Smalling, Fabio, Gibson, Cleverley, Rooney, Macheda

Most of internationals rested

Evra will be rested, SAF said as much on Friday and also said Owen & Rooney will both get 45 minutes. Would like to Hernandez play with Berbatov for 2nd half if Owen and Rooney start

Oh and Neville has started for the reserves this morning (against Chelsea reserves) so he won't be playing this afternoon.

Incidentally our reserves are winning 1-0, Welbeck with the goal

Am off to Wembley, woohoooo - thank god real football is back!

Admin Note: No more posting of streams in threads please.

Where is the date and match description in the thread title?

If I do a search for matches, Chelsea vs Manchester United, how the hell am I supposed to know which one in which unless it has the correct information in the thread title? Is it so difficult to do?

Last post date in the column on the right hand side? In the vast majority of cases the most recently posted in thread will be the most recent.

Or, you could just go onto the first page and find out - only one extra click!

How about you actually take the time to give threads a decent title?

How can people argue with this?

Common sense I would have thought...

If there's a rule that's implemented then of course I won't argue with it. My point is that if you search match threads from seasons gone by, extremely few contain anything other than team names, so that's why when I've created threads I've done it in the simply "Chelsea vs. Manchester United" fashion. It makes it less clear on the homepage as well if you have the competition name before the team names if the club names are cut off halfway through.

Again, this is the first complaint I've ever seen about it, so I'm sorry if you guys have a bee in your bonnet about this issue, perhaps we should stop arguing about something that's really irrelevant and look forward to the game?

Weastie has great ideas when he can be arsed to leave his knickers on.

This may sound strange but if Fabio and O'Shea start, which might happen, I would play O'Shea at LB and Fabio at RB.

I would like to see Fabio at RB, I think he may be better here, and O'Shea is just as comfortable at LB.

He's already played for us at right back, against Birmingham last year. Looked pretty average in that game.

I have the possibilty to watch the match with plenty of Chelsea fans (among them are people I really despise ) on a plasma screen on french TV or I can watch it via stream at home.
Help me choose

Depends on how close you're sitting to the plasma.. good seat..

Go to the bar, streams are shit and just cut out anyway.

The seat will be good.I mean it won't be more than 30-40 people in the bar.

Go out lad, fresh air and rub it in their face when we win. Why waste time interacting with online gimps when you can meet real people even if you do despise some of them.

I disagree.

Don't remember him doing too much wrong but I also don't recall him being particularly involved either, save for beating the full back on one occassion and drilling a low ball in and putting in a good cross for Berbatov on another. Wouldn't really be fair to judge him on that game anyway considering it was the 1st game of the season. I don't see any reason why he couldn't play in both positions though - obviously he's right footed so it would be more natural for him to play on the right, but his left is pretty goood too.

Anyway, the title is wrong, its the Community Shield :p

I think its will be like most Community Shields

We spend weeks looking forward to it because of the break, come the weekend, and we can't fecking wait for the kickoff and about 15 mins in we are reminded that this is no more than a glorified friendly and the game is mostly shite.

Still can't wait for kickoff!!
