Ahh but he said best ever. How about Roy Keane? but yeah, a great player, I think of all the English players to have played at the highest level, he's the one who seems to get the highest praise from fellow professionals - especially by non English players.

Yeah, Vieira, Lampard, Gerrard and Keane have a shout, but the work rate, shooting, passing range, the longetivity on top of his game, really makes him the most complex midfielder in Premiership. Prime Scholes walks into any team in the last 2 decades IMO. And fellow footballers seem to regard him very high.
