feck, I was gonna have Smalling in for Vidic in my prediction thought there was one too many reserve players

Didn't think we'll see THAT many changes, and that many players who have had so little football this season all together. I can understand that, and we should still beat Rangers, but with CSKA and Besiktas in mind, I wish we'd pick up some points before we start with the wholesale changes.

Given the money I just piled on, I'm not best pleased with the line up. That said, our established backline has been a bit of a shambles, so maybe the ressies can show 'em!

It wont shatter his confidence at all. You can see from the selection that ferguson thinks this game is going to be slightly easyer than some and it has a fair few players short of fitness. Ferguson has rested Berbatov for the derby at the weekend and I'm sure he knows that.

Wow 10 changes? wasn't expecting this team at all, looks like weve taken Rangers very lightly to me, totally new defence, none of them having started a game for us this season so far i believe? is it wise to go in with such ring rust throughout the backline? Gibson in a midfield 2 is never comforting and no Berbatov even in the squad.

The whole back five have been changed... personally I think it's Ferguson dropping them after the Everton shambles, though he will say he's 'resting' them.
Scholes, Berbatov and Nani are being rested for sure though.

On a more positive note looks as though Berbatovs sure to start against Liverpool, i wonder what were going to do on sunday, Rooney on the bench? maybe a 4-4-2?

Dunno, but he was the senior centre back and we conceded two late goals in the centre of the area.
