Manchester United vs. Rangers

Nope, we decided to leave em all at home and let them rest, been a long hard season an all........

Ofcourse. Scholes and Berba have played 1 game in the last 3 weeks. Can't imagine the amount of rest they'll need to recover from that.

why is nani and berba left out of the squad, the game is crying out for them to inspire our team.

Is this a WUM?

Half this forum wanted them both out of the club a year ago, so it would be hilarious if people think we can't survive without them now.

Well to be completely honest, those two and Scholes are the only ones who show any sort of creativity on a consistent basis in our team besides Rooney.

Valencia's honestly doing himself no favors. 3rd poor performance in a row from him. If this continues Nani's going to get that right wing role for good.

For some reason, every few matches he just looks like a different player. Just looking to find a team mate instead of repeatedly running his fullback and getting crosses in. When he plays like that, just passing backwards and sideways, he's not very useful

Seriously though, please, someone explain to me the logic in totally excluding near enough every major creative talent in the squad (certainly our best ones) when knowingly about to face a team whove no intention of doing anything but defend and pack their box with bodies?

Someone?.....Anyone???

I know I'm not saying anything new here...but, How did Fergie think a midfield of

Valencia - Gibson - Fletcher - Park,

was the right option against a team that would simply sit around its own third?

I understand Liverpool coming up, and resting some of the oldies, and not so oldies, all the while giving some of the youngsters a go...but that midfield is hopeless.

You can't play Scholes every game you know, and Nani definitely needs a rest. I'd image Giggs wouldn't make that midfield any more attacking.

I knew we'd struggle when I saw the team sheet and subs bench.

I really really thought we'd batter these bastards. I'd been boasting all day about it aswell. I'm gonna look like a right cnut tomorrow at this rate.

Wow, I've come away from that first half a little disappointed but hopeful of a good second half, and yet find that this thread is full of anger and bitterness. I suppose I shouldn't expect anymore from a matchday thread on RedCafe!

That's not fair. It is disappointment because we all knew what Rangers were going to try to do, yet put out a midfield that has plenty of hardwork and graft, but little creativity.

We know the reasons for it, but that midfield simply does not work, and it is making things even tougher, than Rangers and their everybody stay back approach.

Do you seriously think that Scholesy and Giggsy are capable of playing 3 matches in a week?

Berbatov should've been in the squad, but it's more important to give Rooney and Hernandez some minutes.

I agree, we need Valencia attacking his fb not another Park...

well i have missed the 1st half but reading some of these comments things aint been to go, maybe i can bring some luck to the 2nf half

Great cure for insomnia, to be fair.

I might stick the first 45 on again if I can't get to sleep tonight.

It's making me angry. Looks like half our team crawled out of bed five minutes before kick off, which isn't that surprising since literally the entire line up consists of players who either lack match fitness or have been playing like shite...and Fergie's stroke of genius means that apart from Giggs, we don't even have anyone on the bench who doesn't fall into the same category.

Because fighting hard workers with hard workers is bound to be an exciting match. Cant go wrong...

What's the harm in keeping Scholes on the bench? Fine I can understand him being excluded but Berba (1 game in 3 weeks) and Nani who is young enough to play 3 games a week not even in the squad?

We have Liverpool next?

 United for you. We might get a couple in this half hopefully.

He's not really been bad, barely had any crossing oppurtunities which is not really ideal against Rangers wall of meat. Faster attacks = better Valencia.

it was like reading Asimov's Foundation. In the end, I just fell asleep.

I'm hoping the players can up the tempo next half.
