Berba's bitch. A Bulgarian dEvil
Rooney is injured. Not travelling to Valencia.
Thanks for the heads up. Out of my lineups game now
Rooney is injured. Not travelling to Valencia.
Thanks for the info Ekeke. I have little knowledge about this Valencia side. You make it look like as if they are not as strong as it appears
Knowing SAF though, 4-5-1 is the way he will play, unless we play them at home
I am torn between putting an extremely defensive side and playing safe, or playing to our strengths.
I'd go defensive. FFS we played 4-5-1 against Everton, who like Valencia play 4-4-2, so...
--------------VDS-------------
Brown-------Rio----Vidic--------Evra
Nani--Fletcher--Scholes---Carrick--Rooney
------------Berbatov----------
That's right, the only way Rooney gets a go, if he plays strictly left
If not him, Park or even Anderson on the left
How can anyone be suggesting Gibson over Anderson, who's workrate will be vital, is beyond me. Or carrick of course. One is box to box, one controls the tempo and one shoots a lot and plods around.
Gibson will play and he will score.
Carrick-Fletcher-Scholes is the most likely 3 man midfield. Slight chance of Anderson on the left, instead of Park, or instead of Carrick but no room for Gibson at all
I have an odd feeling, that we'll see one of our other strikers, like Macheda or Owen, or Hernandez on the left. And you know what? I would looove to see that
What makes you think Carrick will play? I don't see him even getting a look in.
Nani, Scholes, Fletcher and Park are certain starters. Then it's between Anderson and Gibson. I have a feeling Fergie will go with Gibson.
Can't see it. We have approached away European ties quite negatively in recent years and I expect that to be the same this year. Park will play from the left.
Rooney is definitely out. Not in the squad for the Valencia match. Also, since Obertan is starting for the reserves tonight, I don't expect him to play a role in the match on Wednesday neither.
No Valencia, No Rooney, No Giggs. An out of form Fletcher and an even more out of form defense.
I'll gladly take a draw in this.
Gibson offers nothing but a long range shots.
At a guess, I would say it will be 451.
Berbatov up top, Nani and Park on the wings. Scholes and Fletcher will be in midfield. 3rd midfield spot could go to either Anderson or Gibson imo - i would go with Anderson but then Gibson probably has better match fitness at the moment and is a bigger goal threat so may get the nod.
Not sure who will be in defence. Evra and Vidic are the only ones I would be certain about. I would go with Rio to partner Vidic but RB is a problem. Personally I think it should be Brown that gets the nod but O'Shea could retain his place.
VDS in goals, hopefully.
If that was the formation, I would go with a bench of
Kuszczak, O'Shea (if Brown starts), Evans (if Rio starts), Bebe, Gibson/Anderson Owen, Kiko.
no scholes
Bebe is travelling !!
no suprise giggs injured and scholes can't play every game, anderson, fletcher and carrick need to step up.....
Well now that Scholes isn't starting I'd line up with....
van der Sar
Brown Vidic Ferdinand Evra
Carrick Fletcher Anderson
Nani Berbatov Park
Starting both Carrick and Anderson would be a massive risk but it would also give both a massive confidence boost, which is what they both need. I've a feeling Fergie will start Gibson in place of Anderson, however.
At a guess, I would say it will be 451.

No Neville, Scholes, Rooney or Giggs. This could be a long night!
Anderson - Gibson - Fletcher
It's gonna be fun
Carrick's travelled, which is the only bit of good news this morning.
If Carrick and Anderson both roll back the years and have really good games, then a midfield of Fletcher, Carrick and Anderson is actually quite decent.
Big bloody "if" though.
No Neville is nothing new (quality alliteration right there) but travelling without any of the other three mentioned is a massive kick in the balls, all the more so when Anderson/Carrick are only just back from injury and only have only played reserves/CS games so far this season.
I think we're gonna lose.
That's unusually negative from you Pogue.
With no Scholes i'm now expecting O'Shea to play in midfield again.
We'll be fine. 0-0.
