Sunderland vs. Manchester United

Fletch on the right and Nani on the left please.

Also the only thing I've a real problem with is no Berbatov. Sure he's on the bench, but why isn't the man starting?

No Berbatov or Evra, and Scholes surprisingly fit? I'd be surprised if that's right..

Well after today he has a break to fully recover, really speaks volumes of what SAF thinks about Carrick - hes more comfortable with playing a injured 35 year old rather than him

Resting him for the stressful weekend he's going to have sitting at home in a weeks time.

Does seem a bit weird, Berbatov is more a player who grows into games usually when he comes on as a sub he doesnt have the same effect. But that was old Berba, new Berba will probably score a hat-trick!

At the moment, Berbatov is our in form striker. He has no international duties now, the man should be playing every match he possibly can (well in the league and CL anyway). This early in the season and with not playing internationals anymore, there's no reason for him to be rested.

It's a 4-3-3. I don't know if we have enough in the side to score though. Feel we will need 2 goals to get a win today.

That may be true, but with the international break coming up, I wouldn't have rested Evra or Berbatov as they wouldn't be playing internationals and get a rest anyway. The same would likely go for Ferdinand, Carrick, Anderson.. We might as well play the players who won't be playing internationals so they can get the rest, then come back fresh after it. Provided everyone's fit of course.

Maybe I'm being stupid? But I don't think that's a ridiculous way of doing things.

can never trust what fergie said, he said scholes was out for 10 days and rooney for 3 weeks....

Still Sunderland is a tough place to go so having a player on the bench who can change a game should we need it isnt a bad way to go

But he's not a player who can really come off the bench and change a game. He's better off starting.

ONLY two weeks away. It's obvious Berba needs 2 weeks off to be fresh for that one.

He could have picked something up in the last game for all you know.

I'm not very confident about today. That has nothing to do with the team selection like, it's how i've felt all week.

Sunderland is a tough place to go, we usually struggle there and they seem to have hit some form.

Glad to have Rio back though.
