To say this squad is bad and well short of a title-winning bunch of players is pure spasticity though. It's pretty much the same bunch that lost the title by a point last season.
Get used to it. We're going to see a lot more baffling line ups. Maybe next time after a European match we should leave Vidic and Fletcher and Nani on the bench as well.
Bench: Nani, Berba, Vidic, Evra, Rooney, Fletcher, Chicharito![]()
Ok while I have no hope in the title that is a bit OTT
What was Fergie complaining about at the end? He's solely to blame for this pathetic performance. What was he thinking playing Kiko and Owen? Chicharito and Berba looked much better. We're not going to win the league throwing away points like this week in week out.
We were rubbish. Two weekends when Chelsea were playing really difficult games, and fecked them both up.
Today was horrible. Why start with Macheda and Owen on a weekend which could possibly have taken us a point or level on points with Chelsea? It's just baffling. What was the player who has been our best sitting on the bench? We looked twice the team when Hernandez and Berbatov came on.
Really terrible team selection and we almost got what we deserved. Oh, and what was the point of Macheda wide left and Owen as the lone striker, or Owen wide left, which happened during certain parts of this game. Baffling.
dont know what to say... depressing.
If berbatov was fit for the bench why not play him fergie??
We look a player or 2 short of a title winning team, that much has been obvious for the best part of a year yet it hasnt been addressed. We need a spark which we havent got with the current squad.
Fergie's team selections are becoming more ridiculous by the match. His line up vs Rangers was piss poor and to "rest" Berbatov and Evra and start with the obviously impotent Owen Macheda combo is unbelievable.
Evra and Berba have 2 week breaks after this bloody hell!
I knew we're not going to win as soon as I saw Kiko and Owen up top. With those 2 starting and certain to play together for a minimum of 45 mins it meant that we had just one half to win away at Sunderland. Not to easy that.
Honestly can't understand what he was thinking of today. We again have a chance to put pressure on Chelsea and we blow it again. You would never see Chelsea resting their top players for a game like this. Can you imagine Chelsea starting with Sturridge and whoever their 5th choice striker might be away to Sunderland?
Then why bother coming on here when you know how it's going to be?![]()
Because people are clearly frustrated on here at yet another bizarre selection by SAF and by yet another away draw, and by 8 points dropped already. Do some people on here go OTT? Yes of course they do, but the constructive criticism that others are giving is completely justified and I'm sorry, but please don't get on your high horse and have a go at people for being frustrated at yet more points dropped. You have your opinion, others have theirs so leave it be.
Well then why in the world are you gettin at me?do me a favour and leave me to poke fun at the idiots...
ATTENTION!!!
You are ALL wrong!
It's just come to my attention that afrocentricity knows it all and that we're ALL idiots. That is all.
Why should we? It would be nice but it's not a given is it?
Rooney papered over the cracks. And the likes of Giggs aren't getting any younger are they. But I don't think it's sensationalist to say the squad is significantly weaker than a couple of seasons ago. I hope we've got money to spend in the summer(next), but it's a shame we didn't strengthen this summer unless Bebe turns out to be the new Eusebio, that is.
There is no way we should have dropped 4 pts at Everton and Fulham so yeah we should be top or equal atleast right now
Playing the majority of the match with no one playing left midfield is crazy.
Ohh that's how football works? Oh well, you could always press reset and try again...
Okay I think I've had enough fun now... you lot seem to have calmed down, good nigh and god bless.
The best is definitely still to come, I think,
I notice you mention Giggs who wasn't even playing today and weren't we all drooling over Scholes' performances just a few weeks ago?
As for VDS and Neville - well, I don't see many reasons to think VDS is totally past it at the moment and Neville appears to have been replaced several seasons ago.
Rooney may well have papered over the cracks last season and the fact that he's another who isn't available clearly doesn't help. I think we're missing Valencia enormously, too. Nani over on the right is fine but the left side is a complete nightmare at the moment.
At this stage, it is hard to put forward a convincing argument that we are capable of winning the league this season but a quick look at the calendar will show that we're only just into October and we've played just seven games.
Fergie seems to be tinkering a little bit too much for his own good at the moment but I'm sure he'll settle on a fairly consistent XI in due course and performances will pick up as a result.
The best is definitely still to come, I think,
Pathetic performance, yet again. What the hell has gone wrong!?
Sssh, we aren't allowed to criticise the team.
It was a truly wonderful performance of free flowing, attacking football in which we created countless chances and made their goalkeeper work tirelessly. We were extremely unlucky not to win by a landslide and Sunderland were clearly lucky to get a point.
I think there's a difference between saying that we didn't exactly set the world on fire today and saying that this team is the worst in living memory, though.
We drew 0-0. We weren't beaten 6-0 or something.
But, some on here were just saying how we were pure shite today and the performance wasn't good enough, but yet we get shot down for that and shot down for speaking the truth. We were shite today and there's no getting away from that.

Don't play the victim.
People are getting shot down for inferring too much from today's result/performance and deciding our whole season is a write off, or our squad is woefully inadequate.
I haven't seen a single person get shot down for saying we played like shit today. In fact, that's about the only issue on which everyone seems to be in agreement.
All I said today was that we were shite and afrocentricity was asking me if I was one of the OTT ones? It isn't OTT to say we were shite. People were right to criticise today and have a rant, but some see that as wrong.
Er, that's not quite how it went was it love? I give up anyway...
Strange squad selection, SAF expects a bit too much from some players I think especially away at a tough Sunderland. Berba and Hernandez should have started imo and we would not be having this depressing discussion. Owen and Macheda should be used as subs in the Premier League matches if Berba, Hernandez and Rooney are fit.
To be fair though, not much service and creativity from midfield in the 1st half. A bit afraid of the moment when Scholes and Giggs hang up the boots.
Anderson obviously needs more match time to get back into form.
Did you not ask me was I an OTT poster?
didn't look much like a united performance to me
Listen, I could go back and check but I'm pretty sure it was in response to something you said to me.... I even asked why you singled me out as I hadn't addressed you up until that point.
You are being OTT nowKiss and make-up?
Oh yeah... What was it the commentator said about Rio having to stand up (for a while) during the flight to or from Spain... or did I here wrong?
Yes you did. If you know me on here, you'll know I'm pretty much a positive person and I'm not knee-jerk in the slighest, not like others on here. I don't make silly comments like SAF has lost it or this current team is shite. That's just absurd. But you can't deny today was shite.
A point is not the end of the world like some would have you believe, we move onto the next match and hopefully we can turn these draws into wins sooner rather than later. We are capable of pulling it together and I really hope we can.
We're kissed and made up![]()
That's what he said, it was mentioned the other day as well.
Any info? Is his back playing up?
Hope notAny info? Is his back playing up?
What's a 'United performance'? Winning every away game 5-0? Because such a United has never existed.
