MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Why are people saying hes going to fail once he leaves? The said was said about Tevez.

The guys 24 and still not at his peak. What disappoints me is that I dont think we have seen the best of him yet. He is going to be a top player for years to come. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

With his off pitch lifestyle, I wouldn't be that confident.

I'll keep quiet. I can't stomach to cheer him. Very unprofessional of him if you ask me. No doubt in my mind his private life had an impact on his decision but we've protected him and this is how he repays us.

"I was in the office on 14 August and David phoned me to say he (Rooney) wasn't signing a contract," said Ferguson.

Explains his shit form whenever he's played.

Who thinks Fergie will let him rot between now and January?

I'd love it; he's a fecking waste of space if he's in this form anyway, what's the point in investing time in him if he's just fecking off anyway?

He's obviously had his head turned by someone else for him to make such a huge U-Turn.

Rooney owes the fans an explanation at the very least. We've stuck by him through everything.

In the next week, I want a Rooney conference or a statement. A little bit of an explanation at least.

I'll tell you what, I'm not going to play him in FIFA now!

Gay? It's pathetic.

We are United supporters, not Rooney supporters. The minute we lose sight of the fact it becomes clear it's all about celebrity. That's not what football should be about.

Well said. Utd over any player.

Going to let him rot in my reserves on FM, that'll teach the fecker

How about Ferguson and Rooney HAVE had a massive falling out (as has happened in the past see Stam, Ince and Beckham) but he's got the first word in and is making Rooney look like the cnut?

What a difference 2 years makes :(

2 cnuts and 1 legend. :/

This may be an unfair assumption as she has been through a lot. But I genuinely think that Coleen is behind all this.

Wayne is clearly caught up in a bit of a lifestyle in Manchester with the stories of Rio's parties and the casino's with the call girls and such like.

I just have a strong feeling that Coleen has offered an ultimatum. If you really want to save this marriage, you'll leave United, leave Manchester and move somewhere else with me and your son.

This is pure speculation but aside from Rooney being a money grabbing cnut with no respect for anything, not even himself, I can't think of any other logical scenario.

Isn't her sister very ill though? I'd read somewhere she wanted to be around her which meant staying in England

Right.. my theory… Colleen knew about Rooney’s hooker escapades long before the media did, probably even before the world cup. (I bet it was one of the super injunctions…)
Colleen is probably fed up with Rooney’s entourage and the British tabloids. The answer? Leave the U.K..
Most likely destination? FC Barcelona.

Anyway, he’s obviously going to be a big loss (though not the way he’s played this season..). However, here are some terrific young strikers at the club and no player is bigger than Manchester United. We’ll continue to survive without him and be just as successful. There will be new heroes to worship and everything has to come to an end sometime

I don't think it's about money. I think IF he wants to join City it will be because he feels they will be at the forefront of English football in the next few years.

Personally i think Coleen has something to do with this. I think after finding out about his antics with prostitutes etc it's more likely she wants to move away to another City/Country and have a fresh start.

That's so stupid though.

what, there are no whores in Spain or Italy?

The birds there are less fit?

Real Madrid is the monastery for players...

What hurts was the transfer request from Rooney was put in August!

How can he do this to us....??

who the feck is advising him??

Its a crap time for this to happen. If he goes in January, we are going to have to play well to guarantee top four finish because it is not a good time to bring someone in.

We've been generally playing well this season with or without him...and when he has been playing he's been crapper than whoever would be in the team instead of him anyway.

I actually can't think of any reason to play him at all between now and when he leaves? ...he's clearly not prepared to put the effort in and he's been contradicting the manager in public.

Just feck him off out of the way until we can get rid, unless he wants to mature beyond the age of about 2 and play like he gives a shit.

People need to get a grip. United would match anything City could offer so the appeal is not there for that. I think Rooney's been holding out for a better deal and now the pressure is on him to take the deal or not. But unlike Ronaldo this doesn't add up.

So we should just accept the fact that he's holding the club and SAF to ransom. feck him, Fergie has stated that Rooney has told him that "he wants to leave".

Thats as clear as black and blue now. Doesn't deserve a new contract. I have no idea how he'll muster up the balls to face the fans again.

I hope Rooney is fecking watching this interview.

Fergie nailed that conference, just been listening to it. The onus is now all on Rooney. Can't believe this started on August the 14th though.

How about Ferguson and Rooney HAVE had a massive falling out (as has happened in the past see Stam, Ince and Beckham) but he's got the first word in and is making Rooney look like the cnut?

That's something that should be tackled. How could allow that to happen and what have we done to replace that?

We haven't done enough - I blame the Glazers for that. They have crippled us.

If we still had Tevez and Ronaldo, im sure we would be Champions and Rooney wouldn't want to leave.

He did the same at Everton perhaps we shouldn't be as shocked. Seems to be as if his head was turned in the summer. City perhaps? but feck him he's yesterday's news.

How about Ferguson and Rooney HAVE had a massive falling out (as has happened in the past see Stam, Ince and Beckham) but he's got the first word in and is making Rooney look like the cnut?

He never managed to make Stam look like a cnut because that was a non story. Stam left with tears in his eyes and he stated it on the italian media that if SAF wanted him back then he would return to Manchester ASAP and send Lazio to feck off. Ince was a cnut.

feck him. He shouldn't even play now.

Thats my first impression, although I just wonder is Fergie trying to force Rooneys hand here? Is this one of those instances where a young man in his current postion (personal life) wants to "run away" from shit. Things could change again so until a time when we know for certain Im probably gona refrain from calling him an fat inbred scouse chav

SAF - 'the one thing I said to him was 'respect this club''

Brilliant, brilliant interview by Fergie on MUTV.

Indeed. Really heart felt stuff

I like and agree with what Ben Hibbs said;

"Never seen him like that before. Some say defeated, I say hurt.."
