MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

That was mostly becaue he said it himself.

No it wasn't it was because he was everything an 'English player' stood for... We all digged in at Ronaldo and looked at Rooney as the real hero whilst being blinded by the fact no players are loyal.

The whole issue is getting confusing. One part of me is seething with anger at the ultimate betrayal from Rooney. On the other hand, he seems to genuinely expressed his intentions to play out his career with Manchester United on many occasions so why the sudden turnabout? If he is going to a different enviroment to sort out his personal issues, fair enough. But i think it's more of a huge Bosman payout from Manchester City that is turning his head.

p/s: Ronaldo is always a bigger loss but Rooney was our identity. I trust Fergie, and i hope this is a time where we proved to be real fans, and not the fair-weathered ones that is always labelled at us.

Hes definately going. If Sir Alex really thought there was a chance to keep him he would have tried to motivate the fans to sing his name, support him etc. Instead he said it wasn't right they chanted for Rooney when the game was 2-2 on Saturday, not fair on the other players.

That's an important point. He doesn't want the fans to call for Rooney anymore.

It says a lot.

feck me.. i doubt he will go to that low of a level. I mean, surely his time here means a thing?:nervous:

He cheated on his pregnant childhood sweet heart non gold digging wife, yet you'd be surprised if he pulled a stunt like that? He dropped his childhood club in a heartbeat, you'd be surprised if he did it to us?

Supposedly had to be stretchered off in training today and left on crutches. May not be fit to play for awhile and by that time the deal to sell him in January could already been done. You have to wonder how many more times he will play for United.

Wonder who put in the challenge?? Gazza? Fletch? sounds more like Vida if he left on crutches :devil:

How come he's smiling and laughing in today's training pictures?

Hopefully Gary Neville snapped the cnuts metatarsel.

AND HIS feckING NECK.

LITTLE SCOUSE cnut..

to think I respected him above every other United player, and defended him above all others.

Just proves that kissing the badge and all that shit was just a hollow gesture.

I actually wouldnt give a feck if he joined Liverpool.

I wouldn't be averse to him sustaining a career ending injury, right now.

feck the transfer fee.

Does anyone else think this so called "being stretchered off" is all a ploy ? What better way to see out your time until january then at home rather than face the fans like a man.

Exactly.

Being part of MUFC means feck all to these overpaid workshy lazy fecking twats.

To think that players died so that cnuts like him could earn a decent living.

fecking makes me sick to the core knowing little twats like Rooney are being mentioned in the same breathe as the babes.

No idea. Because he's a heartless bastard.

Either way, those pictures were from the start of training, not the end when he was stretchered off.

:nono:don't agree with that mate.

There is more to Manchester United than a scumbag from Liverpool

Just re-watched the interview. "Adamant" he wants to leave, Fergie said. Word for word.

it's pretty obvious to me

I wouldn't be suprised to hear a rendition of "F*** Off Rooney, F*** Off Rooney" if he appears at the Spurs game. Of course its still a long way off.
?

this is going to be my first game ever at Old Trafford.
fuuuu

Lou Maccari on SSN saying Wayne can buy his own contract through the Webster ruling, and leave United for only £5m

Thanks for pointing that out Lou!! ;)

He'll have enough dignity to allow us to collect what we have earned from him as long as we let him go I would think.

Will Fergie hold on to Rooney one last full season like he did with Ronaldo?

I still don't believe Ronaldo ever knew for certain he'd leave, Calderon was all mouth and no money, so while Ronny's head was elsewhere until he scented glory in March there was always chance he'd have to stay. Then Perez rocked up with his insane money and the move became possible. Rooney on the other hand has flat out stated he's leaving the club at the earliest possible opportunity, what on earth would be the point in playing him?

As an aside, is there any precedent for a big name player announcing his departure mid-season? Not just to the club like Ruud did, but to the press like Rooney has (via his people).

Fergie has outdone himself ...

Why would people boo him while he's still at United? Why don't we show him some love and he might stay and start scoring again. Wouldn't that be better?

Lou macari is now sayin he can leave united for 5 million

If he leaves for that money I hope he breaks both his fecking legs and becomes the next gazza .... Scum of the earth

I'm afraid it's just how it is. The more fans get use to it as hard as it may be the better. No longer do i get angry over players like Rooney etc leaving all i ask is that we continue to be competitive and get/produce the best. I couldn't careless when we get rid of the shit players so who I am to judge when the good players want to go too.

the situation is not beyond repair but SAF has played uniteds last card and its all down to Rooneys next move now

once he plays and the fans get a chance to air their views it'll be too late to back track imo however with the "injury" ruling him out of tomorrows game i'd say he's got until the weekend to come to the table

How can anyone really think that? For SAF to do what he did must show that there has been a huge breakdown between the club and Rooney, he said theres a offer on the table but Rooney hasnt even looked at it. I do believe for a player to do that must be indication that hes got a offer somewhere else and hes incline to go for it regardless of what United offer.

You're right Rooney has the next move but SAF has known for the last 2 months and today he came out saying what he said. Rooney had those 2 months to do something that indicated he wanted to stay but he hasnt. This situation is almost certain to end in Rooney leaving, the only question that remains is "for whom"

I think there is a slight arrogance here. It is a bit premature to suggest that if he goes to City it is the first step towards the end of his career. As much as I hate to say it City have a very good chance of starting to win things in the next year or two, especially if they sign Rooney. So he ends up at a team with far more money to invest in the squad and a shit load more money. Not necessarily on the road to chronic alcoholism and wife beating.

Seriously, how is nobody considering the thought that he just wants to get the feck out of England?
