MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

SAF: Not intending to suspend Rooney. "What kind of imagination have you got," he tells reporter.

I find this ambition business nonsense, utter nonsense. Wayne has no business getting critical of the managers decision not to sign a big name. He shouldn't be asking for any crap assurances from the manager. We've got one frickin season not winning the title, ONE, and he's off. This seems to clearly be about him being an utter tosser, an immature child, a disloyal prick and someone for whom its ALL about the money.

Spot on.

Can't be arsed to read through the whole thread, not when I live within walking distance of a bridge, but what twats are trying to defend him, and how?

I thought the Rooney discussion would be forgotten by now with Park trying to steal the headlines by showing off THE most shocking hairstyle I've ever seen. I was cringing every time there was a close up of him. Christ!

I only had a shitty stream, but seemed to me like he was trying to show that he's a true red?

SAF: I'm not going to go on about this all night. You've had plenty yesterday, and plenty tonight. Why would I want to meet you people."

Agreed. World class prospect, but there is no way he was world class when we signed him...some people dont even think he's world class now! The last world class player we signed was Veron 10 years ago.

WORLD CLASS, yeah..

Yea?!

Get ready for transfer saga. i hope Rooney leaves in Jan, eventhough i would like to see him at united. There is no turning back, he knows it and the club know it.

We will resurrect, we always do. Thats what separate us from the rest. Its sad the way things are going.

It was awful my Dad said as he was coming off as well and he was half asleep, the game was that boring.

Rooney

When we go rid of Beckham we bought an unknown Portugueezer and Kleberson for £6.5m and Djemba Djemba for £3.5m

Seriously some people live in a FM world don't they? including Rooney. ..Since the galactico era and the age of the sugar daddy, some fans seem to expect us to be collecting World Class XI's like a video game...

We certainly aren't in the best position financially but to throw a tantrum and feck off like he has, 6 months after saying he'd stay for life...psschhhh...feck the little cnut. Some people are incredibly fickle.

And the fans saying "he's right, where are the signings?"..are just as bad as Rooney. Fickle fairweather fans banging on about signings. You would've exploded in self righteous indignation if the Caf was around in 95 when all the kids came through.

Do you honestly believe there is no difference to when Beckham etc went versus now?

And Im fickle by stating that his logic is correct even tjough it may not be the real reason? You knob.

Bang on.

Probably the same idiots who slagged of Ronaldo and wanted a bigger signing to replace Beckham in the early days

The weird thing is..Who is doing it? Chelsea haven't actually added any marque names to their squad since the Shevchenko debacle...'Pool and Arse clearly have worse squads than us. City are an anomoly. Madrid are a joke, Barca have basically added one famous player a year and fecked up majorly with Ibrahimovich just because they wanted to look like they were spending...So who is doing it really?

And yet some fans actually think we should be buying loads of people..that it's their right as fans to get these players or that it's what United are or should be about...I mean WTF? I can't believe any of them are over 20 cos they'd have been fecking furious at our squads in the 80s. Plus of course the great hypocrisy about whining about football being all about greed and money nowadays whilst whining that we aren't spending enough money nowadays...

Odds on Wayne Rooney's next club have been shortened. It's now 8/11 Stringfellows, 3/1 Spearmint Rhino.

After what Rooney's agent has been up to, the Stretford End might have to be renamed soon...

Ferguson said: "Rooney intimated to me, in his own way, he wanted to leave." Which means he pointed at himself, then the door, then grunted.

The sale of Wayne Rooney couldn't have been better timed, as there's apparently an awful lot of interest in America... going on the debt.

Rooney is planning a move to Real after mishearing that Madrid was "full of lovely Senior Ritas".

"Nice to see your home fans booing you"... You haven't seen anything yet, Wayne.

Rooney was sad to hear of Tom Bosley from Happy Days' death but glad Mrs Cunningham is back on the market.

Rooney's statement was delayed - he broke three crayons writing it

Ok this is what Fergie's just been saying. It's rather interesting :

SAF: "We don't want it to become a saga, we have the team to consider and tomorrow will be the end of it. Important game on Sunday."

SAF: Not intending to suspend Rooney. "What kind of imagination have you got," he tells reporter.

SAF: "Let's put the Rooney thing to bed."

SAF: "It became a long night for us," when asked about the match against Bursaspor and difficulties of breaking down visiting defence

SAF: I'm not going to go on about this all night. You've had plenty yesterday, and plenty tonight. Why would I want to meet you people."

SAF has blown up and hit out at journos after being reminded that he has cancelled his last three Friday press conferences

SAF being asked about Rooney being disrespectful to rest of players

SAF: "I've not the whole of Rooney's statement. I have a
meeting with David Gill at 10am tomorrow. David has spoken to the owners tonight."

SAF: "I don't want this to become a saga, believe me. I have a game to prepare for on Sunday and that's what I want to focus on."
AF: "I wasn't prepared to risk Berbatov, Hernandez because of massive game on Sunday. Scholes and Rio already rested. Good to rest players.
Very very interesting indeed. Wonder what Gill's speaking to Glazers about? Is his transfer all arranged already?

Interesting, Two names on that PL leading scorers list on the left went for the money and look where they are now.

Why on earth would we loan him to City right now? Why would we even sell him there let alone loan him right now.

Come on Madrid!

I don't want him to go to City, but it seems most likely they are the club that has turned his head.

You're on fire tonight, Mockney -- I couldn't agree more.

It's depressing enough having Rooney leave (and it honestly came as a bolt out of the blue for me), but to see the way some of my fellow supporters are falling for the most vulgar spin from the Rooney camp is truly heartbreaking.

Is it to much to ask of some of you to be able to understand that while the Glazer ownership is bad for us (short term & long term; in every way), Wayne Rooney going public with wanting away in bleeding October has absolutely nothing to do with the Glazers in any way, shape or form -- it's just a cheap way of trying to spin greed and petulance as something palatable to the supporters.
Even MUST going along this line of reasoning is the cherry on top of the fecking woe-cake for me. Horrible, horrible stuff.

Well the obvious example would be Inter winning the Champions League by signing Eto'o, Sneijder, Milito, Lucio and Pandev.

SAF: "Maintaining success is not a certainty at any club. I believe a four-year cycle is the most you can achieve."

Unfortunately as they are the owners and we have to consult them about as big a decision as this, people who hardly know whether a soccer ball is round or square

SAF: ..."an opportunity. We will invest when the time was right. There's no value. We identified one player in the summer." Villa?

and then

SAF: "We get loads of calls/emails every week about players who want to play for Manchester United. Sometimes you see a cow in a different field and you think that cow might better than the one you have but doesn't always work out that way." We lost title by one point."

Intriguing

Forgive me for asking, but whats so intriguing about that quote? All it suggests to me is that they might try and offer Rooney what he wants - I would've guessed they'd do that.

SAF: "We have a good structure, the right staff, the right manager, brilliant chief exec. Not a single thing wrong at Man United. Goodnight"

Welcome to the big time fella. You just got promoted to the big time.

300k a week, new players and Spanish prostitutes?

Anyway :
And he's gone. Fascinating stuff from the great man. Sharp hair cut too from the 68-year-old Scot who finished in rousing style.

Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "I haven't read Wayne Rooney's statement, but we'll have a view on it tomorrow and probably put it to bed tomorrow. As I said, the door is open. We keep good players, particularly when they are that young. He wants assurances? Have I won 30 trophies or what?!"

Perfect response to the little git.

As an aside, what a pathetic excuse of a man 'the boy' has turned out to be.

England's great hope, a true football fan's footballer who plays with his heart? No, just another greedy spoiled brat who thinks concepts like loyalty and honour are only worthwhile when they involve inflating his own ego.

Big Man Mk. II.

SAF: "We have a good structure, the right staff, the right manager, brilliant chief exec. Not a single thing wrong at Man United. Goodnight"

But fredthered told us that Gill is a fecking liar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are the signings?

If we had bought top quality to replace Ronaldo, Rooney wouldnt have been asking the question.

Stop defending Rooney. It's not about signings, it's about money. And don't forget: In the last few years we have missed out on ONE trophy. It's ridiculous to claim that the club lacks ambition, if somebody shows lack of ambition, it's R**ney.

Fergies response when Shreeves told him that bit about ambition tells you all you need to know, as soon as Shreeves started to say it Fergie smiled and made that sarcastic comment, he knows full damn well its nothing to do with ambition, Rooneys looking to line his pockets plain and simple and Fergie knows it.

Class.

His mind is in a very strange place right now, he is listening to all the wrong people and cant see the wood from the tree's. At some point he will wake up and smell the awful acrid stink that he has created, all of his own doing and then will realize just what a complete wanker of a human being he has become.

Has become? How many times has he cheated on Coleen in the last few years? Who once used to claim 'once a Blue, always a blue'? I've always had a problem with that and I honestly think that a player who treats a former club badly will treat us badly, too. If you meet a girl or boy who is cheating on his partner with you, be very afraid, because chances are he will do the same thing to you one day. It's the same with Everton, Rooney and us.

Other than that your post is very sensible and interesting, albeit I don't think there's any excuse for R**neys behaviour.

Exactly. How Rooney can grow up in the era of United dominance and not realise we create world class players rather than buy them is beyond me.

PS. I know it's really about ££££££££££££££££££££

Almost missed the white text. :D

Yes, it's only about pounds.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that we SHOULD and HAVE TO reinvest some money because to create world-class teams you need world-class players. But it's not like we've missed out on trophies for two decades or haven't spent any money since ten years.

I would understand someone like Torres if he got fed up with his clubs' transfer policy. No good transfer policy, no Premier League trophy for about two decades, etc. But the same can't be said about Manchester United.

Great post, Mockney. I usually don't agree with you but this post makes really for brilliant reading. Some people should print it and put it over their Rooney shirts.

Or maybe a transfer has already been in the works and the owners have to give a go ahead. It is rather intriguing. You might be surprised tommorow.

SAF revealing that Gill has met with the owners and he's meeting with Gill himself in the morning, after having already said the matter will be put to bed tomorrow? If you don't think that's intriguing then you can't carry much interest in the topic to be frank.
