MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

If he was only interested in massive wages he would have gone to City. They could easily trump whatever united offered him and throw in several million quid as a signing on fee as well.

Well money is surely the most important thing to him.Going to City would have attracted more negative attention and pressure than ever before and that's why staying at United with higher wages was the ideal thing for him.

Smug scouse twat. fecking hell

Yeah, looking at him smiling for the camera.

How dare he be happy after signing a 5 year contract with the greatest football club in the world.

Smug twat.

And with that, I leave this thread for what it is. Some right cretins on here. Shameful.

Yeah, he's a cnut for showing concern about the future of the club.

And he never uttered a word in public about leaving. People read far more into the statement than they need to.

Uhmm yes he did. Fergie said so and the day after he said what Fergie has said was true.

He's a cnut. People in love only see what they want to see.

The fact that reporters are stating the #MCFC are furious pretty much shows he must have had a deal with them. Theres no way he would have said he was leaving without having another club already lined up.

It now means we can slap a huge transfer price on him. Too much damage has been done in my eyes for it to ever return to normal for him. I imagine Fergie will already have half an eye on his replacement.

Very much doubt that.

When has Fergie ever gone this far to ensure one player stays? In the past, anybody who has kicked up a fuss anything remotely like this has gone. No questions asked.

Despite everything, Fergie quite clearly still believes Rooney is the man to build his team around.

Anyone who criticized Rooney's undoubted quality (current form aside) was obviously running on very high emotions which is understandable considering Rooney's previous position within the hierarchical standing of players amongst the fans. Either that or they were just very naive and quick to forget his remarkable form pre that ankle injury at Bayern Munich. An injury which likely cost us not only the title but another Champions League.

Hope he leaves in the summer, I can never cheer his name again.

Maybe time will mellow my attitude, but I hope not.

I'm confused, do I hate Rooney or do I love hime again???

To be fair though, if he gets cheered at OT for the next game it will make us look like the most fickle bunch of cnuts going. I hope we stick to mild booing for a few games and see how he progresses. If he worls extra hard, really applies himself and proves his worth again, then maybe after a while he can be brought back into the fold again.

Just not yet!!!

Because he wasnt even willing to listen to contract offers. Now a few days after it was all aired in public, he's signed a long term contract at the club.

He's been promised something he really wants. Which right now is almost certain to be a transfer to the club he has chosen. And some extra pocket money until then? Why not.

We all know his comments were bollocks before. So why there are people buying his comments now  Its hilarious. Either you think he's a liar or you dont.

I think he's a lying little scouse sumbag that has treated the club like shit, but after what SAF said in the press I highly doubt that he then decided to offer Rooney marquee signings and the like...

It all started when Rooney was - :(
Then Fergie was -
Then the Caf was -
Then Rooney supposedly saw City and was all - :D
Then Fergie was at the press conference all - :(
But secretly Fergie was -
The Caf meanwhile was a mixture of - :wenger: and
City were all -
Now I'm - at City

At least the club can sell him for optimum value now, if that is what will happen.

Very valid point.

You can almost imagine the debate.

Gill : Look Wayne, we've always been fair with you. Now how about you be fair back

Wayne : Thats true lah.. OK what do you want

Gill : OK well what we'll do is we'll get yuo to sign a new 5 year deal then in 2 years time we'll agree to let you go to City

Wayne : How do I benefit from that ?

Gill : Well, if we sell you now we get £30 million and your 15% is £4.5 million, but if we can get your signature here, then we can sell you for £80 million and you get £12 million..

Wayne : Cool.. its a deal.

There'll be no big transfer for Rooney in near future, so people saying this is just a short-term thing until a big offer comes in are wrong.

City or whoever would have had to do the deal this January before the financial fairplay rules came into effect. From the summer on, noone's buying him without having to make massive turnover or sales.

He's here for the long haul it would seem, so we can go back to building a team around him. He's been a bit of a cnut, but he'll have been able to make more money elsewhere, so at least that's something. The scouse prick.

At least the club can sell him for optimum value now, if that is what will happen.

It had better be what happens.

Disrespectful arrogant smug scouse cnut, that pic of him with SAF makes me want to punch him and Ive NEVER felt that about a United player before.

Very much doubt that.

Ronaldo? He convinced him to sign a new contract and play on for an extra year.

Remember that post this monring from the Caftard who said Corry Evans texted hs mates bird about Rooney staying?

Turns out he was right!!

Tell me how does it make financial and footballing sense to lose your best player half way through the season for virtually peanuts? And yes, people will forget. Fans forgot Rio's cnutish behaviour....after a couple of good seasons, so I'm sure they'll forgive and forget. It's always been the way of the world.

Not me -- I remember how cnutish Keano, Becks, esp Rio and now Rooney behaved. Keano was disappointing considering he was club captain and Rio for the way the club backed him despite his drug suspension. Now Rooney.

They left a bad taste in my mouth ever since. You respect them as players but there is that level of love that you would have for a Scholes, Neville or Giggs.

I'll never look at him in the same way again. Wish he'd never signed a new contract to be honest.

I'll support him, but he will never be a great in my eyes, after his selfish behavior. Spoiled brat.

What you mean Mourinho predicted it correctly? Quotes?

On french (and even british )TV after his CL match he was asked if he was interested in signing Mourinho he said 'of course, who wouldn't be ?'.He also said he believed it was a stunt from Rooney's people to get him a more lucrative contract, he said that with a smirk like he perfectly knew what was going on.He really did

Here is the vid, it's on the live french TV that he talked about the bigger wages

I don't know who the feck has pissed me off more.

United for bowing down to him or him for pulling this stunt.

I can't believe that the clubs bowed down to the classless little cnut.

Fred, I thought you already have made yourself look like a complete pillock enough in this thread?

If Fergie has had enough of a player he will get rid of that person like a piece of meet. So to start complaining when the boot is on the other foot is a bit rich don’t you think?
The only thing Rooney has done wrong IMO is to publicly question the ambition of the club and the quality of the squad.

Very much doubt that.

You dont build a team a player who is willing to shit on everything and everyone to get his move away.

All we're doing is damage control. Making sure he leaves on our terms, where we have more control and can carry on best without him.
