Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

..............................Van Der Sar

.Rafael..........Ferdinand............Vidic...........Evra

...Fletcher.........Carrick............Scholes...........

.............................................................Nani
.....................................Berbatov

...........................Hernandez

Thats what id go with, given with the injuries to Giggs/Valencia and Rooney and the form or lack of from the likes of Park there's no stand out option on the left hand side right now and given we'll be up against one of the most inform wide players in Bale i wouldn't be surprised if we used a Fletcher on the right to double up on Bale at all times, I dont see us letting Bale have a free run at be it Rafael or O'Shea because that would be suicide frankly, plus we did use this exact system at White hart lane last season, Fletcher on the right, Scholes and Anderson central and Giggs wide started that day, id be in favour of a similar shaped midfield on Saturday.

Just hope and pray neither O'Shea or Neville start this one, against either Lennon or Bale they'd get ripped a new anus so badly wed have surgeons required on the pitch, its most certainly not a game for either of those, the pace of Rafael and Evra will be needed.

This.

6-0. Hernandez double hat trick.

Is it weird that I love him?

Weird would be not loving him.

Over 200 posts already & its not even matchday...this is a big big game...

tbf...(and I hate to say it) its possibly their best chance of beating a top 4 side for 17 years. We've been shipping goals like no ones business so far this season.

Hopefully Ferdinand & Vidic will hold firm and several of Henandez/Berba/Nani will oblige, a sneaky headed goal from one of the two big fellas at the back is overdue aswell...

3-2

but not the way we want it to go:(

Interesting that in the build up to this game, all the talk is about how much Spurs have improved since they last came to OT and how they have closed the gap.

Yet since that 3-1 win, we've got the Rio-Vidic axis back in the groove, we've had Nani step it up even further and we've got a dangerous striking partnership in Berbatov and Hernandez developing...

I'd say we've come on a fair bit since that 3-1 ourselves.

I think this game could shape the remainder of our season. We're over a bad patch with late wins against Valencia, Stoke and Wolves and the confidence should be coming back. A poor result/performance today could set us back to where we were, but the opposite with a good performance/win could kick start the season and title push.

Anyone else have a feeling O'Shea could be involved in midfield today? For me, without doubt, their danger man is Van Der Vaart. I wouldn't be surprised if Fergie put O'Shea in midfield to do a job on him.

I certainly hope not.

We are at home, and playing Tottenham not Barca or Real.

Available list of midfielders
Nani
Park
Carrick
Scholes
Fletcher
Gibson
Anderson

I'm leaving out Bebe and Obertan from that mix...Despite this, if O'Shea plays in midfield, I'm going to be really

Why though? O'Shea's solitary performance in midfield is better than anything Anderson, Gibson or Carrick have served up in the league this season.

If Fergie does select him then it's a little more negative than if he doesn't but it doesn't mean our play will be negative.

IMO Van Der Vaart is the only true World Class player that Spurs have and he would get into (or at least challenge) the central midfield of most teams in the World.

Forget Bale, Lennon and Modric. Van Der Vaart is the one to watch.

I'd play:

----------------------VDS-------------------
Rafael-----Ferdinand-------Vidic--------Evra-
Nani------Scholes--------Fletcher----Obertan-
-----------------Berbatov--------------------
----------------------Hernandez--------------

That would certainly be very attacking but, in this case, i'm glad you're not picking the team.

You're always a man to accentuate the positives! To be fair, you're spot on.

Alas I was confused by the imposing bold text. I promptly checked Ben Hibb's twitter with no confirmation so I deleted my post :p

I think it'll be a 2-2, but a different one from our past draws because I think Tottenham will take a lead twice only for us to come back and snatch a draw.

No crazy team selection we need 3 points. We have already drawn more games this season than we did last season five vs four.

VDS

Brown/Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Fletcher Carrick Scholes
Nani
Berbatov
Hernandez

I can't decide between Brown and Rafel.

Brown is better defensively and if Crouchatron is on at least he can handle him on his back post runs.

Rafel is better going forward and will push Bale back.

It's a fine line between them.

I sincerely hope neither Neville or Sheesy are playing.

Chelsea down 1-0 to Blackburn right now~Benjani

If Blackburn do go on to take some points of Chelsea I don't expect us to win. We almost always bottle it after Chelsea have dropped points.

vds, rafael, rio, vida, evra, fletcher, scholes, nani, carrick, berba, hernandez

no bale in starting 11 for spurs
