It's quite an amazing achievment that we're 2nd (right now ) in the league despite playing virtually every game without a central midfield. Every team just passes by our midfield like it doesn't exist. It's worrying.

Evra's been very poor as well. Getting caught out time and again.

On the bright we've barely got into our stride and we have a lead and yet another Nani assist. I'm hugely critical of Park but he's been brilliant today
 
Spurs look like theyve got at least 1 goal in them, lots of quality in their midfield play we need to close them down better in midfield, maybe bring Scholes on and go 4-5-1 after an hour or so and try and hit them on the break.

Very nervous when Van Der Vaart gets the ball he looks class.
 
What a nice game to watch. Spurs played some very good stuff at times. Vdv is a good player.

Very happy with that performance. That's much more like us. Everyone has been good actually. We just need to be more careful at the back and more clinical in attack and we should get the 3 points.

You reckon? They've got three players who like to drift into the hole - Modric, VDV and Keane - and that's bound to cause trouble for any two man midfield, but I thought we minimised the damage pretty well. Fletcher dealt with Modric and Carrick's done a very decent job on VDV, and then either centre back has came out to pick up Keane when necessary. Made it abundantly clear why we didn't play Scholes, I feel.

Exactly. Spurs have been just bypassing our midfield all game. Fletcher and Carrick need to get stuck in a bit more.

Hes very good at finding space. Looks a classy player.

Our central midfielders need show a bit more drive. Were totally relying on nani and park dropping into pockets.

I yet feel Spurs are getting through our midfield too easily but ofcourse it's not easy picking up on players like VDV, Scholesy and co. Luckily Jenas has been horrid :lol:

Agree. Rafael is growing for every game.

I didn't want us to buy VdV, boy was I wrong.
 
I,m switching over to albania TV second half waddle and champion are blowing each other off with the tottenham appreciation society .
I would rather watch adverts for tractors at half time than listen to those two tools.
 
Most enjoyable half of football so far this season, end to end stuff.
 
its only one half but rafeal has been immense shutting down bale and going forward. Rio has been very composed and back to his best imo. I even think Carrick had a decent half.

We do need to score more goals though as Spurs will keep attacking.
 
Vidic, Rafael, Carrick, Nani and Park are playing fantastic in this game... VDS made a great save that surely would have been a goal if someone else was instead of him as a gk... However, Park should have pass that ball to Berbatov when he did everything great expect the shot and same goes for Berbatov.... He need to pass the ball... Chicharito.... You dont pass the ball... You shoot :)
 
What's with the fireworks and dancers at half-time?
