Nani

He followed this up with a good performance against City. It wasnt a surprise for him to then start another big game against Arsenal. Even if you disagreed with it.

Yep this was what I was talking about. Remember him playing in a great through ball to someone (Gibson?) who chose to shoot from long off despite others being in better positions and Rooney absolutely blasted him

Meh. Feck off the pair off you. Mocking my senility. *blows raspberry*

Ben Hibbs said he was doing an interview with him. Anyone got it? The Anderson thread was most probably taken from it. Would like to see the whole thing though.

would come with the spurs program i guess

He's the type of player the opposition love to hate.

He's got so much threat and just irritates them with his will to win. Any little advantage he will try to exploit. I'm glad we have him on our side.

What's that now, scored+assisted 31 goals in his last 31 games? (including games for Portugal)

Brilliant, love him more and more, very reminiscent of Ronaldo in the way the opposition will absolutely hate him, he'll annoy the feck out of everyone with his antics but then produce some magic that very few are capable of replicating, that shot that hit the bar late on was an example of how much talent the boy has.

Wasnt his best performance, but his threat was lethal as ever. Imagine the scoreline if he'd played his best stuff in general play too.

Best player on the pitch again.

The one time he doesn't make a meal of a challenge and it's a blatant penalty, it's not even given. Then again, he made up for it.

Was pretty unimpressing all over, but two or three good involvments are all he needs these days to turn matches. He has the x-factor, has those extreme abilities that every team needs.

He's such a huge threat for us. By far our best player. We need to rest him though and sadly with all the games coming up it's not going to happen.

He's went from a player with potential to such a key player for us this year. Since the start of this year, he has been class. He still has frustrating parts to his game, but you can't deny his brilliance.

How many goals does he have this season now? He could get double figures for us.

He may be a cnut but hes our cnut!

Our best player this season, 5 goals and 8 assist in 13 games? Unbelieveable, on course to match (or exceed) Ronaldos 06/07 assist+goals contribution

He'd be first name on the sheet with regards to midfield and attack IMO, and that's including everyone, even an inform Rooney. He just has too much ability right now to keep quiet. The rest can all be marked out of games. Nani because of his ability to run with the ball and pace is a constant threat. He's the irreplaceable one ATM.

2-3 defenders on him every time he got anywhere near the ball, Nani of a couple of seasons ago, hell last season, would have had a nightmare. But the Nani of today, is more confident in himself, and has started to use some of that brain matter he possesses.

His goal was a piss take...haha. He was having a good game long before that, but the goal was obviously the icing, and his shot in the final minute was nearly the cherry on top.

Nanis improvement is a lot more impressive than Ronaldo's considering everyone knew that Ronnie was a big deal, and despite his inconsistencies never really felt he wouldn't make it. Nani, on the other hand was totally written off mostly, because yes he deserved to be, he was insanely inconsistent for someone who wasn't in his teens anymore. Now, he's a beast, and his 10/11 are on pace to be more impressive than Ronaldo's 06/07, his league alone stats are looking to be 10+ goals and 25+ assists on this pace, Ronaldo's were 17+17, truly hope he can keep this sublime form up.

Loved the commentators still banging on about his "inconsistency" as well.

Both goals again today came directly via Nani, and we've said that so many times already this season, he's a one man band at times, all this inconsistency stuff is or at least should be getting blown out the window and well and truly put to bed, hes been by far our most consistent attacking player since the beginning of the calender year.

His stats since the turn of the year are frighting.

Plus Nani is a winger...they are by nature a bit erratic, be that with their crossing or their influence on games. It's just how it is...name a proper winger who match in match out performs?

Very few...Ronaldo/Messi are not out and out wingers, Malouda is a 'winger' who plays inside all the time, same goes for Nasri and who ever else Arsenal play at times.

Nani Nani Nani Nani Nani Nani Nani Nani Football!

I watched the whole match yesterday and he really is an utter cheating, diving, moaning, whinging, scumbag always yip yapping in the ref's ear too

Its a shame cos the lad is a gifted player.

Strangely I and a few neutrals thought he was quite poor for most of yesterday but he's clearly gifted and tricky and can finish

He's just horrible though, about the most consistent cheat in the game today, which means you cant like him, even if you'd like too, but hell he's a Utd cheat so you're gonna put a different spin on that - to be expected really

If you havent noticed, we like our players to be in the cnut mould.

Nani has been our best player this year. He can do things no other player in our team can do, namely beat 2-3 defenders and score or assist a goal. And he is far from his prime. Wouldn't be surprised if he became our best attacking player for years to come. Rooney has to work very very hard in order to be considered our best player again. (I'm not talking about the English tabloids and Rooney fanbois here.)

Nani can be frustrating though. He still struggles to see that he would be a better player if he kept it simple in cetain situations. He doesn't understand that simple passes may be more devastating than unnecessary solo runs. And his behaviour on the pitch isn't the best possible either. The fans of the other teams hate him already, and take him to be a despicable cnut. I think he lacks intelligence, both in his game and in his behaivour. If he wants to be one of the best players in the world, he has to add intelligence to his game.

Nani is is and Has allways been class even when He was young He showed promise and to think people allways doubted Him bad judges thank god we have alex.

There are real parallels between the trajectories of Ronaldo and Nani in their respective United careers. Both really started to kick on in the second half of their third seasons. Interesting to see if Nani can keep up his goal form- he should be aiming for 20 in all competitions.

Eboue.

Also, what's Jopub's opinion of Arshavin's dive yesterday? Seems to have been brushed under the carpet...

Even when Valancias fit, Nani has to stay on the right now. Nani is clearly far more effective on the right than on the left so we'll have to start looking for a left winger if Obertan isn't given a real chance. Bale would be my favourite.
