PARK-A true unsung hero

I'm confused, didn't Park play from the left today? Likewise with the Spurs game? Why do people keep talking about him in a central role?

If he was then he spent very little time on the left - had more of a free role i'd say and all of his good work came through the middle when he was linking up with the other central midfielders.

He's getting into some form after a run of games. Absolutely vital now that if Fletcher could be out for some time.

With some players finding their form (Carrick, Park etc), our team looks so much stronger

Changed the game once he came on for Nani. It coincided with us controlling the game. Excellent performance.

Had a decent game yesterday and that was good to see as his form has not been the best of recent.

Because he played centrally. Against Spurs he was notionally wide left but both he and Nani tucked in and compacted the midfield when defending and were fluid in attack.

Last night, he played in the centre and surprised me by just how well he played there. Another option in the season ahead, but would have to be in a centre midfield 3.

It is hard for fringe players to get a run of form going which leads to overly critical people claiming that they're not good enough.

Whoever plays on the left usually has a fairly free role to come inside. Unlike our right side where the winger hugs the sideline. This is because usually we have Evra providing the width on the left.

Even Giggs or Nani don't spend that much time playing touching the sideline that much. Park perhaps more so comes inside and in the middle though.

Whenever Park goes wide out left, I don't expect much, when he is central, I feel he is a lot more of a threat going forward.

All hail Rufio.

Amazing, we've been waiting a long time for him to deliver in small matches like this and score important goals in tight matches against weaker teams... and he goes and does that.

His form can do whatever the feck it likes for the rest of the season, that goalscoring performance was good enough for him to a take a break for the rest of the season.

I've always said he's fecking there when it matters!

This will buy him, what, 2 weeks before people start suggesting he'll be sold in January/Summer?

Good for him. After Rooney and Nani, it seems he's coming out of the "let others score" mentality he had to don while Ronaldo was here. Sad that during the interim he had to endure so many on the "no goals = HE SUXORS" bandwagon. But that was to be expected.

That being said: as soon as Rooney and Nani get back, he'll probably tone the shooting down again.

Play him through the middle and he'll produce (though ironically both of his goals came while he played on the wing) the goods... hope he turns into a goalscorer like he regularly does for South Korea, I actually believe he's quite a good finisher. Well done, Ji Sung!

Two goals, both just as the half's about the end.

Absolute quality. Yet he seems to have to pull rabbits out of the hat all the time for people to recall that he's capable of it.

The fickleness of the mob?

Still i think enough people recognise the value of Park, indeed PSV should see us in court on charges of theft. :) A steal.

Into his sixth season of service to the club and may there be a good few more.

A fine performance today, that of a senior member of the squad.

I've never understood the park bashing. He's the epitome of a team player and so often sacrifices his own game to allow others to play. I think he's found his place behind a striker.
