Manchester United vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

What a let off.

Fergie insisting on resting some of our best players almost cost us again there. I can't understand why he doesn't put out a stronger line-up and then bring off the players he wants to use in the next games once we're ahead.

That was a terrible performance. Bebe in particular, i'm sorry to say, was nothing short of pathetic. Hopefully this we be a lesson learned from Fergie and he'll stop putting poor starting line-ups out against teams when it's vital we win.

rubbish.

it was a calculated risk and it paid off. scholes wasnt worth risking seeing as tho a booking would have made him missed the derby. we put out our strongest defence. fletcher played despite carrying a knock. obertan, bebe etc are raw as feck and will use this to develop.

you're all such a bunch of fannies, unless we win nice and comfortably the toys come flying out of the pram.

Please improve your grammar. That's difficult to read.

Let me explain.

It's what he's always done.

Fergie believes in developing and trusting youth. His team selection today was partly due to necessity and partly with a view to the derby game coming up on Wednesday.

He gave Berbatov the day off and kept Scholes on the bench 'just in case'.

He may have been able to get away with not having to use Scholes at all, in the end it didn't pan out that way.

We got the 3 points and now have a fresh Scholes and Berbatov for the City game.

At one point we had a front 3 of Obertan, Hernandez and Bebe.

Personally that's why I love this club and Fergie, managers like Mancini would never dream of taking a calculated risk like that and trusting to so much youth.

As for the bit in bold, don't expect him to change any time soon.

Can't be arsed to read that. Shocking formatting.

Who promotes these people?

ha, really? what a nob.

Yes, really.

With regards to your comment. We was 1 minute away from being seven points off the pace there. We'd have been low on morale heading into a massive derby game on Wednesday. It was a massive let off and if we don't learn from it then we might fall foul to such misjudgements again in the future and lose vital points.

i think you'll find that should be 'we were 1 minute away...'. if, you know, we're going to be pedantic little gobshites about things.

Park has desire in abundance and plenty of ability to go with it.

Please. He just keeps getting lucky, that's all. How the likes of a player like Park could ever get a minute for this club let alone a full match is a mystery for the ages. He can't score, except against big clubs and/or bizarrely when it really matters; he can't pass, except in really tight situations and to make ludicrous attempts at one-twos in and around the box; he can't tackle/stop opposition attacks from developing; and he spends nearly all of his time running into spaces where no opposition players are (what kind of defensive winger does that?!) How he hasn't been released on a free...seriously.

God's probably afraid He's going to get eaten or something like that.

Well spotted but please take my point on board. I'm not being pedantic. It's just genuinely annoying to have to read your posts as they are.

you're talking out of your arse. apart from abbreviating 'though' to 'tho' there wasn't anything wrong with the post you were referring to.

Sorry, couldn't resist. We just won a game by scoring in the injury time. Cheer up.

If you stick your head up out of that red mist for a moment. You might see I commented on your original post. I'm well over it. Let's get back to discussing football.

so you have a pop at me for grammar and then put a full stop in the middle of a sentence where it actually makes no sense, on this occasion, to actually have one?

i was discussing football and you decided to be mr internet grammar policeman and now it's bitten you on the arse.

Are you joking?

Wow. Are you still going on about that?

Move on. I have.

Only just, because people sided against you. The arrogance wasn't needed in the first place, the fact you've moved on from your own pedantic post doesn't mean anything lol.

Anyway, back onto football I'm pleased with the result, as said before they gave Chelsea a game and also City. We had a second string team of mis matches out and we got 3 points. We couldn't have expected first 11 football from that team today.

 I'm more than happy with the result. Aren't you concerned by the performance though?

Sure we were poor but just look at the players we had missing. Our carling cup team vs Wolves was probably stronger.

Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Rooney, Owen, Berba, Giggs, Valencia missing. I dont know what you were expecting really?

There was a lot wrong with it if you were submitting an English paper, but you weren't. The comment about it being difficult to read was hilarious.

well yeah, i usually don't apply exam style conditioning to my posts here and there were a lot of full stops as it was a list of points i wanted to make.

anyway, this has sidetracked into a big steamy pile of bollox but then, as it's in the matchday thread, i guess it is in the suitable place.

I don't check my posts for novel-standard grammar but I aim to get the basics right. If you must know, my original post was in relation to your lack of capital letters and txt spk. It's unpleasant to read. I also wrote it to wind you up a tad as i thought the content was bollocks. It worked better than i could have imagined!

As I've pointed out, I'm over it and I've replied to your comment. That's the last thing I'm saying on the matter. Jesus.

Err, are you praising him or dissing him?

this is the internet equivalent of kicking someone when they aren't looking and then running off. you've been a muppet and now are trying to play the 'i don't know what you're problem is'. as a result, i now think you're a dick. mission accomplished i guess.

I know we had injuries but I think we should have went with a stronger midfield until we were in a stronger position then let the raw players have a run out. It's a great result though and takes a bit of the pressure off for the derby knowing City can't get back above us even with a win. :)

Yes but who would we play? I'm positive Scholes would have started if not for the 4 yellow cards.

Who else could we play? All our other midfielders were either injured or ill. Gibson, Carrick, Anderson. Hell even Fletcher played despite turning his ankle on Tuesday night!

Since when was it important to be above City. We have to win the derby because we want to win the league. The pressure is still on
