Manchester United v Arsenal

Define playing all over us on our ground.
As I have said, the quality of possession is more important than the quantity. One incisive pass to open up the defense beats ten to-and-fro passes in the middle of nowhere.
I would think that the team that created more/better goalscoring opportunities had the upper hand in the game and deserves to get a result.

It was more majority of possession and attempts at goal before the final 15 minutes when we are chasing the game. I think you took my comment a little too seriously anyway.

Prediction #1: Arsenal will score a goal due to us leaving a man unmarked at the back post. It's been coming.

Wish like feck Vermaelen was back and fit. Fabregas too. Hell, even a fit van Persie could be the difference, though he probably won't see much game-time.

All this premature trashtalk from both sides has made me more nervous than excited ahead of this game.

Yes, but there was a gap between the top 4 and everyone else. Now, you can argue there were two tiers of the top four, but it's not to say that the top 4 weren't ahead of the rest.

And who cares about Henry's supposed injuries before United games? The bitterness is ridiculous.

There is also a gap between the top 2 and everyone else.

Just pointing out that Wenger lies about his star players' availability ahead of this game every season.

It's bizarre, United won their fair share of those games, so there's no reason to be so offended by Henry's fitness, or lack of.

Not offended, just pointing out Wenger's record of lies.

I don't mind Cesc playing this. Nasri has thrived this season playing without Cesc. The return of the latter could nullify Nasri a bit.

I can't wait for this, my plane leaves in twelve hours. Haven't been since opening day of the 08/09 season.

I'd hazard a guess at United lining up something like this.

VDS

Rafael
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Carrick
Scholes
Anderson
Nani

Rooney
Berba

Rooney would drift out left as usual with Carrick sitting deep to keep an eye on Nasri. Anderson doing all the running in midfield and Scholes will do the usual. Nani up against whoever plays at left back is where I can see our main threat coming from. Feeding the ball out to Nani will bring two players across to cover him leaving more space for Rooney to drop into which is where I feel he is at his best. Anderson will be vital in stopping Arsenal from getting their passing game going, constant pressure needed in midfield. If we can stop Arsenal playing their football and we attack with pace I can see us winning by a comfortable margin. I'm gonna go with 2-0.

Nani and Rooney.

I can't really believe we are in this position. A win would be a great platform for us, but equally that applies to the Gooners. So it'll probably be a draw or the best game ever. Just have to watch it I suppose. Have fun zebs.

Chelsea's result today has made this even bigger than it was. I'm currently imagining the idea of us winning tomorrow, whilst you draw against Chelsea next week. Would be epic, but somewhat unlikely.

Fs, where does this over-confidence come from? We're playing the top team of the biggest league in the world, yet some of you are confident of a proper trashing? Come down to earth and be nervous and excited like us, the realists.

I still think there's too much over confidence from United fans regarding tomorrows game. This Arsenal team is better than last years and I think they might actually get stuck in tomorrow instead of the ol' pass and move dabble.

I'm so jealous of everyone going to this game because I was going but I'm not anymore because I couldn't get a hospital appointment rescheduled. That's an important thing that I have to go to, but I was really looking forward to watching this game. I've got the taste for it now after going to the Blackburn game. :(

Unless it's an anti-climax scoreless draw.

I was trying to remember the last time you beat us and I'm struggling actually - was it 3 seasons ago? Which isn't good. Means you're due a jammy win.

2008 - 2-1 at the Emirates. We then didn't conceed for about 17 years.

Last time Arsenal beat us was November 2008, Nasri got two, Rafael got one. Since then there have been 5 games, 4 wins for us and 1 draw.

Ah, I remember it now. Shit defending from us for those goals, but I remember we played well, but only managed to pull one back too late. Big game performance from Nasri - there haven't been many of those. :nervous:

I remember those goals, great individual effort from Nasri to out play the defence on both of them ;)
