Premier League Fixtures (26 - 29 Dec)

I swear I love Wigan :D

Beat Chelsea last year and beat Arsenal and now drew with L'pool and Arse this year :D

Don't feel all that bad about last night now. Pheew!

Terrific weekend for City though, that's only bad part.

So it was a handball from John the Post?? I was 99% that it was but then started watching the Wolves´ game a second after... feck

A fully deserved point for Wigan. Lack of quality was obvious at times but they worked their socks off and played some nice football. Arsenal were poor.

Arsenal dropped points, great stuff. Even though Chelsea won, they still struggled by the looks of it and Bolton were undone yet again at the Bridge.

Chelsea are 4 points behind us now, but we've still a game in hand so it's all good.

That's exactly the reason why Chelsea will be our biggest threat to no.19. Arsenal 2-1 up away to a bottom 3 side who are down to 10 men.

They implode to drop 2 points.

We the champions have beaten Bolton at home, by one goal, get in.

wow..this is really exciting. Thought the arse would do this one...so unlike other threads on here...no there is not easy way through. We will drop points, chelsea will....spurs for the title? lol I love our league

Beats the shit out of La Liga.

Someone in this thread was moaning about the quality of passing compared to La Liga, but who gives a feck about the quality of the passing as Madrid and Barca steamroller cannon fodder week after week?

We've never done it at all.

So Chelsea were top, then it was Arsenal, then it was us, then it was City..us again, Arsenal could have gone joint top tonight but failed and Chelsea have seemingly found a way back into it... great title race, loving it! Spurs the dark horse as well who are capable of beating anyone with the players they have.

Nope, one of Chelsea and Arsenal will draw tonight.

:D

Seriously though that is why i was delighted Arsenal beat Chelsea because of results like that, sure Chelsea are a bit shit at the moment but they have a squad of experienced winners, Arsenal are a bunch of whiny little bitches with no bottle, i fancied Wigan might get something tonight and there ya go.

Suddenly our result isn't so costly.

Great stuff!!

So Arsenal don't gain any points on us through the weekend and we gain a point on Chelsea.

In fairness, their fixtures included a head to head so I'm disappointed we are only one point better off against those two.

City are like Arsenal though, they have a tendency to feck up with stupid results.

True but a work in progress who are bound to keep improving with time and no guarantee they'll have Arsenal's lack of bottle.

Arsenal can blame the referee for the awarded penalty in the beginning and the forgotten one at the end.

They were a lot better than Wigan and only got a draw while Chelsea beat Bolton unconvincingly

Yup, but then again, over yesterday and today we've had the much tougher fixture. I'm basically a little relieved after yesterday. Of course it could have been much better.

I agree..much prefer this. sure I would love us to be streams ahead...but actually..there is something much more sexy to win the league at the last post even though most on here wouldn't like it. This is brilliant. We are all going to lose points...and you know what..if some unlikely team did it...well..I would be the first to take off my hat. feck La Liga....feck italian football....and forget about the french and germans.....England is the place to be a footballer, because that certainly is where the real ferking challenge is....

fecking hell were they trying to get the whole squad offside then? I think even the coach driver was off

No, there aren't. City aren't going to get to 80pts mark, neither are you and by the look of thing Chelses have gone crap too - besides with 31 pts in 18 games they'd have to win more than 50 out of 60 possible in the remaining fixtures.
You assume that both or either Arsenal or Man. Utd will reach the 80 point mark, but that's by no means guaranteed.

This is shaping up to be the tightest title race in many seasons, with more than just 2 teams in contention.

Losing 2-1 to Everton at home the other week was a shocker for me.

I had them banked to win that match and top the league at Xmas, but they fecked up big style by losing. They have a lot of hard away matches coming up, and once February/March comes in and the title race really hots up, they might not know how to handle it since it's been forever since they were last in a title race.

I am so glad Joe Cole joined the "biggest club" in England and not ourselves.
