As I can understand Rooney's form this season and his average performances sometimes, do you really think he's gonna sit on the bench against City at Old Trafford?

I would understand your line-up, if it was Hernandez to start alongside Berbatov, but I can't see United starting with only one striker. At home. Especially when it's possible Park will start.

Fairly positive we'll go for one striker. It's the preferred system in "big" (massive) matches.

Question is who to pick. Berbatov is in form. Rooney is better at playing the lone striker role but is in woeful form. Decisions. Decisions.

1 Striker at home vs a team that will surely park the bus? Rooney's fantastic at home so there is no chance he won't start.

need to get back to winning ways, we must not allow tonight game to cast doubts to our mind and suddenly crumbled, we must stay focused.

Is what i think the team will be although i'd prefer we went 4-4-2 with Berbatov inplace of Fletcher

Are we leaving Giggs out so that he can come on and change things if they aren't going well, instead of having no plan B if he starts and things don't go well?

He'll probably pick up an injury on international duty. Berbatov will be freshest.

We've got the Internationals next week.

Rooney et al are playing in Denmark.

Ando and Rafa are playing in France.

Vidic is playing in Israel.

Nani and Hernandez will be playing in South America and Hernandez doesn't play until Thursday night.

Also Fletcher, O'Shea, Gibson and Evans on Carling Nation's Cup duty.

People forget that Man City park the bus halfway into the opposition half. :nono:

Portugal meet Argentina in Switzerland and Mexico meet Bosnia in USA.
That's better for Nani but Hernandez will still have a bit of jet lag and won't arrive back until Friday.

Also Fletcher, O'Shea, Gibson and Evans on Carling Nation's Cup duty.
Didn't bother with those because they're only as far away as Ireland.

We may play with only one striker and even if both Rooney and Berbatov start, remember Owen really can score against Berties.

I really can't wait for this game but you just know it's going to be a dire game with Mancini sticking 10 men behind the ball.

I fully expect this to be an awful game. I can see them frustrating us if we don't score in the first half.

This is a massive game. Literally.

We have to win, and we will. But by how many and how we win... remains to be seen.

Berbatov to get the winner, that I'm sure of.

2-1 would do nicely. Us to score first and City to pull one back. Then a 89th minute header from Hernandez would be great.

No Rooney on the left unless we have a creative midfield i.e. no Gibson
We need quality in the middle, not quantity.
I want to see Anderson-Scholes, as they are much more combinative. Fletcher to provide the legs.

I can't help but think, SAF will want to play to our strengths and put Berba-Rooney uptop. Park and Nani on the wings.

We will smash the cnuts.

Hernandez and a few of our other lads have opted not to join their national sides this week and stay in Manchester.

I forget who else. Nani I think is one too.

I'm positive we'll win.

Jekyll and Hyde home and away.

City were pretty pathetic against us at Council House, they were pathetic when they went to Arsenal at The Emirates, and they'll probably look to do much the same.

Berbatov or Nani will find a way through though.

I wish Maciek still made these.

This will be another 0-0.

Why not another 4-3?

We rarely have goalless draws at early kick-off on Saturday. Especially at Old Trafford.

It's a game that both will be more bothered about not losing.

City will know if we beat them that's it for them and the title race.
