Manchester United v Manchester City

His most noteworthy contribution was spitting his dummy out and lashing out. fecking idiot is going to get himself sent off if he keeps doing shit like that.

So the ball was magically won in the air and just made its way to Giggs on it's own for the goal eh? ;)

Anybody see Brown and Hernandez hugging after the goal? Another Evra-Park style bromance?

I wouldn't put too much into that, have you seen Chicharito? You'd have to be dead inside to not want to hug him at any given opportunity.

Why Chico? Berbatov would provide better possession and control of the tempo.

Anderson certainly will come off, probably for Carrick.

Either would be good. There are other players out there who might not last all 90 in one or another way such as Scholes, Rooney, Anderson or Giggs. I was just thinking that Chico would be good on the counter attack, but seeing us having the ball under control Berbatov might be a better choice. Perhaps both rooney and anderson is coming off in the second?

Goal came from no-where. Great pass by Giggs. I wouldn't mind seeing Ando come off for Berba.

But I reckon we'll keep it the same, that goal really lifted everyone.

It's not really working IMO. He should go 4-4-2, take Anderson off and put Berbatov on. They aren't exactly dominating midfield.

I don't understand why you'd take Fletcher off which is what i'm alluding to with the idiot comment. He's been solid. If rafael is on the bench I'd like to see him come on as O'Shea isn't doing much in attack. Defending wise, there is not much between them.

was fairly even till the last ten minutes of the first half. Nani's been a class above.

I wish we had gotten Silva when had the chance. The man is everywhere. Great player for them. Hope we keep him at check

Anderson has to be better if he's going to cement a regular playing in the hole.

Looks off the pace and not fit, he's running like he's injured.

I know he's a good player but if he's injured, why play him ?

We've already seen that playing very very well is not enough for him to cement a role in this team. He's looked a bit off the pace at times but I won't blame him. He just never gets a consistent run in the side.

You can't seriously tell me you think Rooney won the ball there? He jumped for it and missed, if kind of rolled off his back!

Anderson off the pace. Otherwise everyone is doing a good job. Real test will come when City go two up front with Silva in behind them.

defence were excellent...

for me smalling is head and shoulders above jonny evans.

Rooney's contribution in the goal wasn't winning the header. It was challenging for the long ball so that Lescott headed it to Giggs. If challenging for an aerial ball is what takes to please you, then you're easily pleased..

Rooney has done pretty well in the first half though, given that he's been isolated up front. Would like to see him run in behind the City defenders more in the second half as Kompany's got the better of him when he's tried to hold the ball up.

1-0 seems like a good enough reason.

We've had plenty of balls into the box with nobody there. I don't think there is any need to have 3 CMs at this point. As I said, they aren't doing much in that area. However, the number of balls we are putting into and around their box would suggest that Berbatov instead of Anderson would be a good idea.

Anyone else think Yaya Toure is exactly the central midfielder we're crying out for?

I have not seen Summersbee on Sky since the 90's and the 2-0 and fecked it up derby:lol: It's genuinally brilliant to see him again. United never lose a derby in he is doing the analysis

The bog roll king was on last year as well when Scholes scored

Where have these jokers being hiding for the last decade?

Won it or not he was there in the position and challenging for it. The service to him has been poor, the crosses poor for most of the game were rubbish but yet he's played a decent front man role. He's working hard and putting pressure on their defense. Say what you want about him but he's best suited to the lone striker role in our team.

Nah keep it as it is and bring Chicho on around the 65th when they have to start stretching the game. It's working at the moment, theres no need whatsoever to change it. Anderson isn't being clinical but he's another strong body in our midfield.

Apart from Evra I agree. He was shaky at times.
Him and Giggsy had a bad start to the game but especially Giggsy got better into the game as the match went on.

Looking forward to the second half

I think taking Fletcher off would be stupid, yes. Anderson however....
