Marseille Vs Manchester United

Do we know? Marcel thinks so.

If the initial plan was to bore us to death then the 2 teams are doing a great match.
2 shit first half performances from both of them, I've rarely been this bored watching a United match

I thought you had seen the other matches United played vs French teams;)

I wouldn't be suprised if this ended in a draw unless Nani creates something. Carrick/Gibson/Fletcher are working hard but they're not going to unlock this defense easily

Gibson and Carrick are seriously 'out of their depth'. The French are sailing through our midfield undetected.

Nani should pass more, and change his studs ffs.

Gibson's been alright mate.

Although, it worries me when an average Darron Gibson is our best midfielder on he pitch in a CL away match...injuries or not, we must strengthen the midfield in the Summer.

True. But I want to see a little more than Rooney. I don't know how a player so talented can be so bad. He's offered nothing. He just does one thing every time - cross field long pass. I know once it actually came off but he has to offer more. Come on Wayne!

There is no point playing Rooney on the left. He's wasted there. We keep talking of how Rooney has lost that "spark" he used to have but being sacrificed for the good of the team for the last 4-5 years has not helped.

Considering we're playing Berbatov as a lone striker it has been a decent performance. You wouldn't expect us to go all out attack to those criticizing. It's a 180minute game now so 0-0 wouldn't be the end of the world.

Agreed.
Gibson was the only one half decent in CM.
Carrick has been absolutely woeful.

Got a feeling that Obertan or Gibson will score a goal, no logical reasoning though.

Did anyone else notice Phelan half asleep on the bench?:D

Fabio would offer more than Rooney is on the left. He's technical a very good footballer.

Also, I thought Fletcher was our best central midfielder. Gibson was average and Carrick was down right awful.

I thought Rooney did Ok on the left. Linking up quite well with Evra.

I see no reason to change it. Keeps going like this a chance will come around. I have been reletively happy with our all round performance.

If I was a Marseille fan I wouldnt be happy at all.

The "highlights" montage is laughable.

One Fletcher shot. One close cross by Nani. Thats the only action as an attacking sense for us.

Put Rafael and Fabio in midfield. They can't be worse than any of the current 3.

Maybe Gibson should come off and Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher could maybe then dominate. Carrick will be under less pressure if Scholes is on so he does not have to worry about being a playmaker.

Plays into our hands, especially if we sneak one. Odds are we beat them at Old Trafford, you'd think they'd show a bit more ambition

Hopefully yes.The frustrating part is that there is enough room to score a couple goals and go into "relax mode" for the second leg.Marseille are terrible

They replayed Smalling heading the ball out to a corner 3 times at one point hehe.
