Liverpool v Manchester United

No Fletcher concerns me, Rafael starting is good to see.

of our last 10 vs Liverpool we've won 7 and lost 3. Fletcher didn't play in any of the 3 we lost.

Correction #mufc: Van der Sar; Rafael Brown Smalling Evra; Nani Carrick Scholes Giggs; Rooney, Berbatov

Excellent :D

Yes! we are going for it, but this formation could still be 4-3-3 with Rooney on the left and Giggs as part of a midfield 3 if needed.

Official MUTV confirmed linup:

----------VDS
Rafael Brown Smalling Evra
Nani Carrick Scholes Giggs
------Rooney Berbatov

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Fabio, Gibson, Hernandez, Fletcher, Obertan

Subs: Kuszczak, Hernandez, Fabio Da Silva, O'Shea, Fletcher, Obertan, Gibson.

SSN confirmed it's

VDS
Rafael
Smalling
Brown
Evra

Nani
Carrick
Scholes
Giggs

Berb
Rooney

Bit unsure about that lineup, makes me nervous to see both Scholes and Giggs in a 4-4-2 formation, and that's such a young (and talented) back line, I think 4-5-1 with Fletcher, and Carrick, protecting the back line may have been the way to go.

But hey, never doubt SAF, let's do this!

Very attacking line up. Not sure that our midfield will offer enough protection to the 2 centre-halves that have not played together regularly. Could be a problem. I expect an exciting game with a load of heart-in-mouth moments.

Why is Rafael now picked?

Fergie's rotation does not make sense. If he is going to play O'Shea vs City and Chelsea, but then bring in Rafael today. I am confused at this.

My only concern is Scholes in a 442 away from home, partnered by Carrick. Neither of them will chase it and put pressure on the opposition.

Nani and Rafael are going to run riot against Aurelio and Maxi.

Have you seen Liverpools left side?

feck it why vidic get himself sent off against chelsea.

They are weak down the left so Fergie is looking to apply as much attacking pressure as possible.

Rafael attacking presence will cause their defence quite a lot of problems. With this line up its easy to see Fergie is not going to settle for a draw.

DAmn no Owen.. Had him to score today.

Gibson and Chicha to come over some point.. we'll see

Cant believe Fergie would leave Fletcher out especially after the chelsea game.

Anyhoo, good positive lineup. Nice to see berbs and rafael back.

Fletcher has been played out of position and I'm fairly sure that's had an impact on his fitness.

I've read that Fletcher got a knock againt Chelsea, so maybe that's why he's not starting.
