I have a bad feeling about this game. Not too sure we'd get away with a midfield like today in Europe. Will need Scholes and Giggs on form.
I have a bloody final exam during that time. Focking hell!
Somehow I feel this phrase only makes a difference in away games. At home, we can do whatever the hell we want to whoever the hell there is, be it an English team or European team. I'd be very bold and say even if we put the same XI out there on Tuesday, we're still gonna dominate Marseille and send them back to France with a fair few goals.

Goalless draw away from home will always make second game nervous.

Berbatov deserves to play in this game. It is not fair for him to start just one of the last few games we played.

On that basis, Rooney was barely scoring this season before this month. He still started all the big games and hell he even replaced the top scorer.
The point is Berbatov has been doing good this season. You complain when he doesn't score and when he is doing good, you don't want him to play or at least he should still play second fiddle.

I suspect 1 of either Carrick or Fletcher will play.
No one deserves to play. He hasnt scored for 2.5 years in Europe. A run of 18 games.
He didnt start any of our games in the knockout stages last season as well.
Saying that it all depends on how Marseille come to play - if they play tight and defensive and try to nicka goal then it will suit Berba as the game will be slower.
Last season, he wasn't scoring now was he? Rooney was having a belter of a season and to start someone else in place of Rooney last season would have been utter nonsense!

How long is Carrick and Fletcher supposedly out for? I have a feeling SAF just said they were injured yesterday so he wouldn't be fined for not playing his strongest team available.

I doubt they can fine us. We hardly played a strong team against Southampton.
