Manchester United vs. Marseille

"The last game was a terrible game, a shocking match," he said. "I enjoyed the atmosphere but I didn't enjoy the game and it will be a better game on Tuesday.''

Sir Alex

:boring: Totally right there. We can't afford to bottle this one so we had better attack at will.

I expect Marseille to start out open for a few minutes to try for the early away goal, then to park the bus and try to get us on the counter.
If we're lucky they'll concede 2 then they'll deffo have to come out so I hope we get through them early - and often.

Hernandez needs to start if Heinze is played centrally.

Marseille need an early goal to make it a game, otherwise I can see you running in two or three. I'm actually supporting United, simply because you're a team who could knock the London sides out, which needs to happen.

I don't know. Even at 2 up you know it could all turn quickly. I hate not scoring away,

Do they lack pace in central defence then Hernandez will be a good choice if not then Berba.

I expect Berba to start as Hernandez is better as a sub - Berba for whatever reason hardly if ever makes an impact as a sub.

0-0 is a good score for a home side to take from the first leg if they've got a decent away form.

United have just got to be careful with bookings(which is why I suspect O'Shea will play over Rafael) in case they get a red card and 'Do a Bayern'.

You're overwhelming favourites though - it'll be a massive shock if you don't go through.

Stop trying to jinx us Alastard

So everyone is accepting O'Shea will play centrally from the start?

Likely last 8

Barcelona
Tottenham
Schalke
United
Chelsea
Bayern
Real Madrid
Shaktar

Bayern, Chelsea and Real are all take away leg advantages back home.

How many times have we qualified when we have not got an away goal?

Can't remember, but I remember those were we went out with a 0-0 away. Real Madrid in 2000 and hmm, was it Monaco in that game Trezeguet scored at OT?

Well, he did do well against Wigan...

The only reason why Hernandez looks so good as a sub is because the opposition defenders are slow, comparing to his blazing past he looks like 20% quicker out there.

Swap Valencia for Nani at half time, or vice-versa.

Hernandez is actually more of an aerial threat than Berbatov imo.

That Vidic story is bollocks, it's based on half a quote from SAF in today's presser. The other half of the quote that they decided not to use was SAF saying Vidic should be fine to play.

yep..
14:13 Sir Alex on Vidic: He got a knock in Saturday's game. He was getting treatment on it this morning and so couldn't train." So he should be fit to play. Jonny Evans been doing gym work. Not available for Tuesday, could be ready for Saturday, but most likely after the internationals. (BH)

We're boned if Vidic is out though. We were awful with Smalling and Brown at the back.

I bloody hell said that Vidic shouldn't had played in the Arsenal game just because he's played an awful alot already and it will continue until the of the season/to the point he gets injured.. 90minutes everytime he's on is just madness. Damn I hope he's fit, theres only two games before we can say to Serbia he's pulled a hamstring...

Think we will see

VDS

Brown Smalling Vidic Evra

Valencia Scholes Carrick Nani

Berbatov Rooney

Or hope at least.

Does anybody know the chances of there being a good quality feed for this just having problems with my Sky at the moment.

Why does everyone have either Carrick or Fletcher in their team? I thought either of them was not fit.

Tbh I'm not overly concerned about this match. For me PL has to be priority this season so if even getting knocked out here helps us in our League challenge I'll take it. However ofcourse I want us to win tonight!
