Rio Ferdinand

He's the best defender in the world. I'm sorry, but he just is. It's not even close, he's just that good.

Very good, slots back into the back four and looks like he hasn't been missing at all. Might see him rested at the weekend.

Thought he was excellent. I thought it was complete madness to start him tonight, but what do I know? Like he'd never been away. Any need to call him better than Vidic though?

He was awesome tonight. I suspect though Ferguson might rest him for Fulham on saturday given that its his first game back in a while tonight.

He really hates Torres doesn't he ?

That's because he's a cheating cnut who needs to be put in his place.

Rio was amazing, my MOTM along with Rooney and Carrick. He's such a calm and composed defender, and can slot right in without needing match practice.

A bit pointless.

They were both magnificent, and it's an amazing achievment considering how long Rio has been completely out.

It's not pointless, as it was the biggest compliment I could pay him. He's that good.

Was very good today. Blatantly wants to smack Torres, and hope he does one day

Can't understand how he was so good after being out for 9 weeks. Class tonight.

Was superb tonight - he bossed a very busy defence, kept a clean sheet, stayed on his feet, and told Torres to feck off a number of times, which is all you can ask for really.

Rio is a synonym for billion times confidence boost.

I love it when he does that to Torres, he deserves it for all his diving.

Just back at the right time, lets hope he stays injury free.

Hard to believe he was out for a few weeks with that performance tonight, he looked well up to the challenge from the 1st to the last minute, he had a great game.

Amazing he was out for more than two months, come back for such an important game and is the best player on the pitch.

Love him.

Rio works very hard off field(in between Tweeting). He did the same at the time of his ban and he slotted right in when he came back.

Anyone here him say "Stay on your feet" in the post match interview. I am certain it was a dig at Wilkins. He was mentioning it on twitter last night.:lol:

"Brap, brap, bbbbrap" - Rio Ferdinand.

He was fantastic tonight; we're so much better defensively when he's around.

Anyone got a gif of him picking Torres up? Though that was hilarious.

This is what Vida missed...the calm, collected maestro next to him.

Good god, I hated what we paid for Rio(especially with Leeds getting screwed so soon after that...)

But the man paid that back a long time ago, what a defender. Amazing.

#StayOnYourFeet

Wilkins must love rio

Rio is the perfect example of a defender who doesn't dive into tackles. Almost never beaten in a 1 v 1. Still superior to vidic for me, but injuries have cost him.

But they compliment each other so well. Perfect partnership and with them together anything is possible

@rioferdy5
During that game I was thinking #stayonyourfeet at every moment....jeeeeeez!! Got it in post match interview too!!
