have to do it without Rooney, Fulham are no mugs though but we should still take the 3 points.

van der Sar

O'Shea
Ferdinand
Vidic
Fabio

Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Berbatov
Hernandez

SUBS: Kuszczak, Rafael, Smalling, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Owen.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Nani

CF: Berbatov
CF: Hernandez

Subs: PIG, Gill, Anderson, Gibson, Park, Giggs, Owen

Firstly keep up the thread making VidaRed, hopefully this should be a fairly comfortable win 3-0, Berbatov, Nani and Hernandez all scoring.

Finally Berbatov gets to start a game. Hopefully he is still sharp and scores a goal for us.

Pretty confident that neither Rio or VDS will play in this match.

Hugely important match. One of our easiest matches remaining (on paper) so we have to get a win and keep up the pressure.

VDS and Rio should not even enter the stadium

This is where squad depth pays off

Berba to start, Owen to make an appearance (maybe even the other Owen as well)

We shouldn't rest too many players, the league should still be the priority and we've still got some 7 or so games to go.

I'd be comfortable just resting Rio and VDS since I think Smalling and PIG should be fine against the likes of Zamora.

Absolutely right, thats how i feel to but i fancy fergie will see it differently, we all know hes got a burning desire to improve our European record he talks about it constantly, ive said before the one slight worry i have for our league run in is fergie over prioritises europe ahead of the league games which i and many fans want more, number 19 fat outweighs a possible european final in my book, not sure it does with the manager.

Given we play in 3 days and then 3 days after there will be a few rested, for instance i can see Valencia given hes still relatively only just back from a long lay off being given a rest as fergie will want him against Chelsea as he performs such a good job defensively as well as offensively against Ashley Cole.....i dont think Ferdinand or Van der sar will play either, Van der sar clearly had a reurcurrence of his niggle tonight so any doubts over him and he wont be risked, and Rio i dont see playing 3 games in 6 days, not with his injury problems of late.

At a guess i can see something along the lines of:

Kuuszack

Fabio/O'Shea/Brown
Smalling
Vidic
Evra

Park
Scholes
Anderson/Fletcher
Nani

Berbatov
Owen/Hernandez

Something like that.

I nominate VidaRed to open threads in this forum till the end of the season. Whoever opened the Chelsea and Liverpool league games should go to hell and never come back.

oh and I am serious no white text

van der Sar
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Scholes Fábio
Berbatov Owen
--
Kuszczak; Smalling; Gibson, Carrick, Anderson, Valencia; Hernandez

Hoping Fletcher's fit, and O'Shea (or Brown). Rafael off injured makes me think he'll not start. Ferdinand, Evra, and van der Sar may be rested - but I think that'd be tampering with things a little too much. I'm expecting Giggs to be rested completely for Chelsea. Valencia to be benched, but there if needed, same for Carrick and Hernandez. Rooney not there for obvious reasons. Might as well start Owen.

2-0.

I think more likely midfield would see Gibson instead of Fabio with Fletcher on the right. I could see Fabio for Evra though.

In some bizarre way, Rooney's ban could be a blessing in disguise (no not in some 'is a loss a win' way). Gives him a nice rest for our cup competitions

Wait, I'm chatting bollocks aren't I?

We have a new system. Pick as many wingers as possible.

I know you're being clever but besides Bebe that makeshift team could put in a sturdy performance. Switch Obertan with Bebe and let him play the most advanced in the midfield three. Fabio can play CM after all :smirk:

We struggled against Bolton... And a good form Fulham ?

Its going to be tough but Nani and Berbs should have been rested with this game in mind and also Owen should be ready.

4-4-2 with Ando back too.

My only concern is DM, Carrick was superb against Chelsea, deserves a rest to finish them off...

Fulham ain't an easy pushover, with Zamora back, they've got a striker who can put pressure on the defense while Dempsy, Dembele and Duff can provide that movement in attack so we should not underestimate them...

Rest Giggs, Carrick and Hernandez, Leave the back 4 as they are doing great and finding form and leave the attack for Berbs/Nani/Anders to conjure something

As I said before, that Rio and VDS won't play against Fulham. Rio's injury problems are well documented whereas VDS was really struggling with his kicking during the match. We would be able to cope with Smalling and PIG anyway.

Zamora worries me. He's given us huge problems in previous games. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rio play. Agree that VDS looks out.
