Olegario Benquerenca from Portugal, the referee from the Wales vs England game.

Someone form Portugal with surname not easy to write.

From accusations of being Jose Mourinho's friend to sending off an unused substitute - meet Olegario Benquerenca, the referee for Manchester United v Chelsea - Goal.com

heres a Goal.com article on the ref. Poorly written however he has handled some big matches and seems to be overly just in giving out cards. Also not shy to book one for diving Torres

If we beat Chelsea in this tie, we're in semi-final for the fourth time in last five years. Wow.

Torres, Ramires, Zhirkov and Obi Mikel are on two yellow cards.

One yellow card:

Chelsea - Malouda, Terry, Drogba and Essien.
United - van der Sar, Vidic, Anderson, Giggs, Nani and Hernandez.

OliverKayTimes RT @SkySports_Simon: Warning to fans driving to Old Trafford. M6 shut between Junctions 16 & 17. Not expected to re-open until 7pm.

If anyone knows anybody likely to be affected you might want to let them know.

He reffed our first CL match (home) against Rangers.

Fouls: United 19, Rangers 12

YC: United 1 (Giggs on full time) Rangers 2 (GK on half time, McCulloch on full time)

Chelsea usually lose to next Champions League winners. 2005 Liverpool, 2006 Barcelona, 2008 United, 2009 Barcelona, 2010 Internazionale.

And if we beat Schalke/Inter it will be our third Champions League Final in 4 years.

What's wrong with sending off an unused sub? Same rules apply to them as to anyone on the bench as the manager. Referee can send off a linesman if he wants, should they break the rules.

Fergies team selection will be very interesting tonight.

So they wouldn't have meant business if it had been Torres starting instead? For feck sake lads, I know we're nervous, but let's not chat bollocks. It's a Champions League quarter-final, of course they flaming well mean business. Everyone is buying into the Chelsea are more motivated for this competition rhetoric. Like SAF said, United are equally motivated - we don't want it any less just because we've won it before. Anyone who held that rest on your laurels attitude wouldn't be at the club.

Fair point...

Yes. "Expect the unexpected" is meaningless drivel thrown out there by twats who like to sound cleverer than they are, which is entirely different from an obvious joke.

Got many of Fergies big game lineups right in recent years? I suppose you saw Giggs in midfield and Rooney behind Hernandez last week coming right?

Don't get your panties in a twist.

I hope the atmosphere is going to be electric, just like the way it was for the Barca 2nd leg.

I think if it's true about axing Torres, Ancelotti has made the right call. 4-3-3 with those 3 up top is their best formula. And Torres is not a bad sub to bring on when defenders start to tire :nervous:

Very nervous about this, one goal is all they need to change the complexion totally.

Drogba is on the bench according to John Cross of Mirror.

Our lineup according to one unreliable source

VDS, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Park, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Rooney (4-5-1)
