Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Why not just say 'penalty kicks'?

Some FA tard probably pointed out there was no penalty involved so they couldn't be called penalty kicks, just kicks from the penalty mark.

FA semantics, we should be familiar with them by now, that's how we always get caught breaching rules that clearly don't exist.

She wore a scarlet ribbon in the merry month of May!

I have a feeling Owen will start today.

It'll be Berbatov on his own or with Hernandez I feel, with Owen on the bench for stoppage time purposes if necessary. I don't think Fergie would risk him from the start against City with virtually no minutes behind him (through no real fault of his own though, of course).

Has this been done?

Road to the final:
United: Liverpool, Southampton, Crawley, Arsenal, Man City
City: Leicester (needed replay), Notts County (needed replay), Aston Villa, Reading, Man United
Stoke: Cardiff (needed replay), Wolves, Brighton, West Ham, Bolton
Bolton: York, Wigan (needed replay), Fulham, Birmingham, Stoke

We'd be very deserving finalists, in other words. Or for those who are nervous of the jinx: We are very deserving semifinalists.

If I remember correctly, we were drawn Premier League teams round after round for a couple years running. 06/07/08 I think?!

Would be great to win the trophy this season, after beating Liverpool, Arsenal and City.

I agree, but if i recall in our Treble year we faced Middlesbrough, Liverpool, Fulham, Chelsea, Arsenal and then Newcastle in the final.

Fulham were the only non PL team we faced that campaign and they were promoted as runaway champions of then Division 2 that same year and were again promoted to the PL the season after under Keegan. So at the time they were arguably one of the better and most in form teams outside the PL anyway.

Was listening to 5-live earlier, they were talking about Shitty beating Ipswich in the '81 semi-final and that they have a very good record record in semi-finals, winning 8 of 10.

This left me slightly nervous...:nervous:

Then Motty went on to mention that they haven't been any where near a semi final since then...:lol:

I'm looking forward to this a bit, your league game at Eastlands was pathethic earlier in the year as both sides were fairly content with not losing, but now that a draw is off the table I want to see how Man City play offensively.

Was it last year you were in the carling cup semis?

They might play Balotelli and Dzeko but doubt they will be attacking more than usual.

That was 5 years before i was born. And only 5 years after they won their last trophy. That's a long time ago. Not sure how it's relevant today.

There was a girl from Stockport;
Her name was Hazel Grove;
She started supporting City;
When she was eight years old;
She's been to nearly every match;
She's only missed a few;
She's never seen them win a cup;
And now she's 42!
