Manchester United vs. Everton

Surely Fletch can come back for this? I think we've missed his energy and drive from midfield lately, and that goal he scored in this fixture last season was unbelievable.

After such a long spell out with a virus, will he have that energy?

That's the worry, but considering he's been training since before the Chelsea game, you'd hope he's been kept out deliberately to regain some of that fitness and energy which made him the player he was.

Front 4 of Valencia/Rooney/Hernandez/Nani I feel will work best. We are a little short of options in midfield given we have 2 games in 4 days, so I'd stick with Carrick and Anderson.

Baines is a huge threat for Everton so I'd like to see one of the twins in at right back to deal with his pace and attacking quality.

Everton have won at city, drawn at Liverpool, Chelsea and spurs and lost narrowly to the arse. Far from easy this one and to be honest an absolutely must win. Best team and fecking smash them. No twatting about with the team with schalke in mind. I'd happily bin The champions league now for number 19.

In all honesty, so would I. All I've wanted all season is that title number 19.

Get a win in this match, and we're well on our way. It'll set us up nicely for the matches against Arse and Chelsea.

With #19 so crucial the matches vs Schalke are like a bit of an annoyance. Hopefully we can get a decent result in the first leg again and maybe rest a few players at home. Really need to put out the best team possible vs Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Forget the midweek CL match we need to put our best team out and win this game. But somehow I suspect SAF will not see it that way - I seriously believe he is more concerned with winning the CL than the EPL.

Agree entirely but we all know thats not whats going to happen, i suspect we will rest or not risk a few against Everton in preparation for Schalke, for instance i doubt Rio Ferdinand will be risked 3 days ahead of a European tie and with Arsenal 5 days later im almost certain he wont be risked saturday, me personally id play him saturday against everton then rest him midweek then bring him back for Arsenal, but that wont happen.

I said a few months back my biggest worry over our title bid was fergies prioritisment of europe, and it still worries me, Everton are not a side we can afford to take for granted especially given the form they are in.

I hope he's not. To be this close to number 19, no way anybody can let it slip or think about anything else.

Put out the strongest side possible in every match.

Arse & Chelsea both 6 points behind.

Have to take the chance to go 9 points clear this time.

Prediction:3-0 Rooney hattrick

Vidic to open the scoring and Rooney to seal it in the 2nd half. Both have been thorns in Everton's side before and a win here gives us one hand on the title

I agree with those calling for strongest team. We may only need to do that for a couple of more league games, then we can rest who we want.

Champions League semi with the chance of playing the final at Wembley, an annoyance? Ridiculous.

FFS I bet most other clubs' fans wish they were annoyed like that regularly.

I can understand people wishing to priorities the league but calling the Champions League an 'annoyance' is, to put it politely, fecking lunacy.

Ofcourse the club and players and Fergie don't find it an annoyance but my worry is that with the CL in mind Fergie will rest players for the PL games which is not ideal. I honestly don't care what happens in the CL this year as long as we can win the PL.

Our strongest team probably, hopefully SAF will see that this is a must, at home with Chelsea and Arsenal left, lets just go for it then field a more defensive minded MF vs Schalke away.

Ala, Park/Carrick/Gibbo.

We will see a bit more of Anderson as he comes back from injury and hopefully Fletch will be ready soon.

Where is vidic?

In other news:

Fergie: "Rafael back in squad, Berbatov slight groin strain & Fletcher back in training. Everyone else is okay."

that's berbs looking at the bench at best then. and schalke away, not likely.

and then it's arsenal away...so he won't start then.

schalke at home perhaps the next time he starts?

Should be a nice two week rest for berbs since the city match.
