    Had enough of Micky sticking the place out now, been absolutely useless for weeks now, can’t keep carrying him every week as we are, his work rate has dropped dramatically and I’m shocked Jose is sticking with him
     
    That was a half to forget. Only performances worth anything to talk about were Matic and Smalling. Literally zero service to Lukaku, he must be thrilled. I hope they snap out of whatever spell they're under in second half.
     
    DDG, Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof - not much to do
    Blind - needless offsides
    Matic - decent
    Mata and Herrera - sloppy
    Rashford - crap
    Mickey - even worse
    Lukaku - isolated
     
    Time to try something new. Martial on for Micki and move Rashford to the right wing. Will never happen though
     
    Shows how lacklustre we are when your players can't look across the line and stay onside. Shocker of a half really, thankfully Benfica look as equally as crap.
     
    Better at the end after a poor start and middle, but we've not really created much.

    Mhki can't get it right. Herrera isn't doing anything. Matic has been great thankfully.

    Valencia needs to take his man on. Rashford's been crap.

    There's been good runs off the last man throughout the game, but the ball is being delivered far too slowly.

    Huh? Herrera has only misplaced 2 passes but has been very energetic and has about 4-5 interceptions again.

    Tbh I've Turned it off, can't sit through another negative and frustrating match.

    Chelsea/Roma game is much more exciting and end to end play.
     
    Mhki off for Martial. Martial left, Rashford right, Mata at #10. It'd improve a lot. Using Mhki as the link man is worthless.

    Our decision making in the final third is so shite.

    Thousands of times Mata, Mikhi and Rashford got a chance to create something and ended up fecking it up with the worst decision possible. Mikhi is a master in destroying our opportunities but I see the rest are learning for him pretty quick. I don't think Rashford got past his full back even once so far.

    Matic and Herera is a terrible pairing. Too defensive and Herrera doesn't have Pogba's flick and shots or Fellaini aerial threat to pose any danger. With this combination we'll never score a goal from midfield. Herrera should be the backup of Matic only.

    The game is suited more for Martial for his excellent close down control he'll give us more chances of getting past their players and create something.
     
    One of those games where the quality of our passing is so poor. Talk tactics, formations and approach all you like but it's all irrelevant when the players dont perform a fundamentally basic pass from A to B. If we just step it up a bit we should be far too good for these and I still expect us to win comfortably. 2-0 United, come on ffs.
     
    Well Mikhi has had one good run and an absolutely terrible 1st half. Poor lad. Think he needs to go away for a week and sort his head, something isn't right.

    All those offsides. Mata/Matic will find a runner.

    I liked that EVENTUALLY Lukaku took it on himself to come and look for the ball. At least he's making those channel runs when he can.
     
    Not great. We lack tempo and are disrespecting possession far too much. Matic has been pretty good but no-one else has particularly impressed me.

    I think some of the offsides looked a little harsh although we're asking for them the way we're loping around past their line while the man in possession dithers. We need to get quicker in our decision making and passing after the break.
     
    If they were going to do a testimonial for Matic, they could've at least invited some more interesting stars.
     
    • Herrera needs to offer more
    • Miki needs to screw his head back on
    • Utd playing better with Mata at #10
    • Rashford should only be on the pitch if we're playing with 2 strikers upfront
    • Get martial on
     
    I would take out Smalling and put on Young as leftback. Blind in as central defender. They have little aerial threat so Smalling is not needed for this game really.

    Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford and Mata need to step up. Martial should be ready to come on soon.
     
    This can only get better when Mourinho decides to accept the draw. Benfica need a result, so should go after the result.
     
    Let's not pretend Benfica have been good or something. If we can't string two passes together, any opposition will look good. Pogba and Fellaini can't come back soon enough.

    Please sub Mikhi off for Martial/Lingard or even the ball boy!
     
    Mkhitaryan and Rashford have been mostly sloppy in that first half. Get Martial on!

    Matic continuely showing his quality.
     
    Didn’t think we needed any other players in the summer but we need a classic winger in the squad. Full backs don’t offer enough going forward and we have no forwards who want to go outside the opposing full backs to stretch the pitch.
     
    What an analysis by Gerrard. Why are these people even there? Just play funny cat clips or something.
     
    This is quite shite...
    Martial the only option on the bench who might make a difference. Obviously we won't see him come on for Mkhi though...
     
    Things needs to be coached i guess, sometime we look like we aint training .
