This isn’t a remotely good Chelsea side. Again we have failed to show any sort of invention, consistency or craft.

    Need to turn up

Sloppy and a defensive mistake. Not the first half I'd hoped for but this ones def on the players so far.

Jose needs to change it up and find a way in the second half as we really have no solution to their deep defence.

P.s can't wait til we replace Valencia

Sanchez gets away with so much on here just cause he looks busy all the time, Rooney got slaughtered for losing the ball on here but Sanchez does it constantly and never hear a peep.

Chelsea no we have no movement so are letting us have the ball. Problem is we do not know what to do with it. Need a rethink, some motivation (but you would have thought a medal would do that), and some players to believe. I would swap Sanchez for Rashford, and if Rashford doesn't improve bring on another striker.

Even the commentator was trying to help him out, asking him "but was it a clear motion to play the ball" and Martin agreed that it was and still didn't get it.

Even the Chelsea players and Conte were screaming red card though, and some here even thought we were lucky he didn't get sent off, so I guess not everyone knows the rules.
Not hugely surprising from Chelsea players but Keown is expected to be a) knowledgeable b) impartial.

    Ugly twat!

Depends a bit on how you assess the game I reckon. We've been better in the middle of the pitch I think, but feel both managers thinks their team had control during that half. Not a lot of chance creation for either side.

Probably a fair assessment. I thought the goal came just when we were in the ascendency.

If we lose to this shite Chelsea side, its nearly as bad as the Sevilla farce.

I’m not discounting that. If you ever read my posts in other threads, you’ll know that I am vehemently opposed to Mourinho as our manager. But I also think the players in question need to show more resilience than they have. Fergie has it right when he said modern players are molly coddled. Like children almost. Difference was, he knew when to be a nurturing father, and when to be a strict one. Mourinho just has one mode. It’s a shame

I'm not sure thats true, I personally think especially Martial after last season and starting this season on the bench has shown a lot of resilience coming back to how his form was in January.

Same story as every United game.

    - Young does not overlap on the outside or inside in the channel. At one point Matic was literally pointing for where Young to run. Pointing!!!! You shouldn't need to be told how to attack as a full-back.
    - Overload on the left, switch to Valencia on the right, who doesn't do anything one-on-one against opposition full-back
    - Herrera busy as a bee on the defensive but a complete non-entity when on the ball
    - Rashford is young, but he has his limitations technically. Youth gives him time, however.

45 minutes closer to the day Mourinho leaves (hopefully at some point next season).

Hopefully before then. No chance I know but we live in hope.

The players are so scared of losing the ball with forward passes, its all sideways and backwards epitomized by Valencia and Rashford.

If we’re going to lose, at least go down fighting... surely we can’t be as bad as that first half.

There were people arguing Rashford is in the same league as Mbappe.

    Another Mourinho attacking masterclass.

People pointing to Smalling and Jones forever miss the point.

I can't wait until we buy Milinkovic-Savic and Alderweierld and play fabulous football.

This game is an abomination. A damning indictment of both teams.

You really think buying those two will change anything? Mourinho will Mourinho

the hate for Rashford after one bad half where everyone else has been crap is ridiculous.

It's a different lineup with a different set of characters.

Character belongs to the individuals not the kit.

You may disagree with this, but I think we need to make substitutions and change the system. That's the only way we'll be able to pick ourselves up. Only Mastic is an inspirational leader out there, and he's not enough.

It's a pretty much the same group of players with the same group of characters. The individuals are pretty much the same and so are the manager. So they have the character to turn it around. The problem is the quality from some just isn't there today.

So that's why I agree we do need to make substitutions which will help the players who will be on the field to turn it around hopefully.

Rashford back out for the second half. I think this could prove to be a wasted 20-25 minutes more from him. Hopefully I am proved wrong.

Yeah agreed. Theres definitely a balance to be had, but I dont think rashford is necessarily soft mentally. Hes always performed well under pressure in big games. People lose form, it's fine. But with how his season was going, theres criticism and then theres the way Mourinho a few weeks ago, was basically calling them shit and useless players and refusing to take any blame himself for shit tactics.

Sanchez gets away with so much on here just cause he looks busy all the time, Rooney got slaughtered for losing the ball on here but Sanchez does it constantly and never hear a peep.

What? I think you should get some specs.

    Fine margins so far.

eden was the difference in the first half. Took advantage of jones mistake and poor positioning then baited him into a pen. Fair play. Poor from jones.

Now let’s see if Pogba and Sanchez can be the difference makers for us.

Bring on fellaini for Jones or rashford would be more effective either end of the pitch

keown has good idea. rashford left and sanchez downthe centre. plus, I add, haul of lingard and bring on martial (not that I'm a massive fan of him either)

I'm sure I've complained but not in the mood to get shouted at today:D
