There is an interview with Gomes on Man Utd website. They wouldn’t have put it there if Gomes had problems with Ole. So, he should still start...

Would be strange indeed to post an interview with Gomes saying he wants to impress against Rochdale and then not even be included in the squad. With the headless chickens running our club you never know though...

Probably going to be an uninspiring 2-0 victory, all I care about is the massive game vs Arsenal next Monday.

    Aren't you worried?

I see this as a boring game from our side. We will pass pass pass pass pass breakdown counter and concede.. pass pass pass lump ball in box, corner, corner 90 mins.

Ole comes out and talks about the 3 half chances that we missed in 95 mins.
I wouldn't say worried, but I don't think it'll be a white wash no. If we score early then we will win by 3-4 I expect.

I am very worried about this game. We struggled to break down Astana and we've been on a poor run. If Pogba is fit he has to start in my opinion.

We didn't struggle to break down Astana, we broke them down plenty of times but failed to convert the chances to goals.

It's just the squad that MEN saw entering Lowry isn't it, so maybe we will see Dalot and Gomes.
Maybe, but prior to games like this and the Astana game, the squad at the Lowry tends to be the 18 with maybe one or two more. In Dalot's case, the inclusion of Wan-Bissaka stands out. I don't think for a game like this, there would be planned to be four fullbacks in the squad. My thinking is the plan was for Rojo and Dalot with Williams backup, then something happened to Dalot in the morning (he was sighted at Carrington) and Wan-Bissaka came in.

I remember Jose making fun of MEN and Samuel Luckhurst before.

Hopefully they are not injured, need game time for them.

Seen someone say on Twitter that Gomes has some family thing, someones 18th and he is joining up with the squad later on today, would be very surprised if he wasn't in the squad as I can't see him starting on Monday night.

The lineup I think Ole will go with based on the squad listed above:

    Romero

    AWB Lindelof Tuanzebe Rojo

    McTominay Fred Pogba

    Lingard Greenwood Chong

2-0 win, our defence is still PL top 6 quality. We'll have little spells of good football and suck balls for the rest of the game.

Pretty sure Romero will be tested, multiple times.

Might make sense considering him and Dalot both have Portuguese roots, maybe they're both there? clutching at straws I know.

    No Gomes?
Could it be because Ole is thinking of playing Gomes in Arsenal game..........

would be pretty dumb considering gomes has barely played and that game is in 6 days. No reason he wouldnt start here and then be good to start again.

Not sure bud, take it with a pinch of salt as from Twitter but would be nice to give Gomes a full run out tonight, Dalot just back isn't he so not sure if he could potentially have picked up knock.

My local team (Posh) beat them six nil the other day. There are a fair few season ticket holders in my office, so I’m never going to hear the end of it if we don’t get a decent result tonight!

I voted for a 3-0 win. We can do this! :D

Quite the turnaround of opinion in the space of 29 mins

Not quite the turn around you think. I'm worried about the game but I always predict a positive win for United. I also tried to highlight some sarcasm in the prediction using "We can do this!"...

The only reason i care for this game and really really want to win is because i want as much game time as posible for the youth. Same with Europa.

    Absolutely right.
Our players could do well to look back at videos of the fantastic battles between us and the Goonners.
Real battles. Real rivalries. Real passion for the club.
If they all show even 50% of the commitment shown by Roy Keane for example then we should beat them.

Only 18 in that squad. There will be 2 more as we usually have a 20 man squad on the day. I'm sure Gomes will be there and 1 other, perhaps Dalot.
Against Astana there was a 19-man squad at the hotel (three goalkeepers). There'll be a player or two on standby but I think for these sorts of games they're not at the hotel.

so any news on Dalot and Gomes?
    Line up prediction is closing...

Pogba is in the squad, the other two are still injured although Ole has said he thinks Martial might be available for Arsenal.

    Could be Greenwood time.....

I remember a certain other academy striker making his debut in the league against Arsenal and scoring two.

Good to hear Pogba is fit, having both him and Martial available for the Arsenal game will make a world of difference.

12-0 to us, predictor won't let me go that high though.

Rojo to score a Rojona, an overhead kick, and a worldie from the half way line, then get sent off for headbutting the ref.

    ---------------Romero---------------
    Williams---Tuanzebe---Jones---Rojo
    -------------Pogba---Fred------------
    Lingard-------Gomes--------- Chong
    --------------Greenwood-------------

Garner for Pogba off the bench
