I like that lineup, but weird decision for fullbacks, especially regarding Rojo. And Young is now better choice than Darmian at fullback? RB position is big worry again this season, if Darmian doesn't improve this season we might consider buying new right back.

Disappointed to see Darmian and Rojo on the bench, would have been better to have Jones (as a CB) and Young (as an attacker) of the bench. Good to see Goss and Pereira on the bench, would love to see them get some minutes.

The best thing for Wilson is to work on his strength. It might be a season or two before we see him properly. Looks a good team to me but we need Memphis to step out of the shadows. I'm sure we'll have a few shots at goal in this game....

Erm, I am not sure if you noticed, but we have no striker in our squad today, of course people shpuld be worried.

And no one is moaning, people are just asking where he is considering van Gaal mentioned him yesterday saying he might play(but is not ready for full 90).

I just don't get it sometimes. He moaned about the space in the middle and said a forward should be coming in there but wouldn't criticise him by name.

Rojo played Wednesday morning, probably got back to Manchester late Thursday so not a bad decision.

What did you do? Darmian instead of Herrera so it'd have been Darmian RB and Young on the wing, or Rojo LB and Jones RB?

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the schedule of games he and Blind had for their national teams. It's probably that, but weird that van Gaal didn't mention it yesterday, he likes to mention every player that is doubtful.

Darmian and Mata stink up the right flank when played together due to the formers lack of attacking Nous and the latter's lack of pace. I'm glad that Van Gaal has decided not to play them together, but if he sticks to this approach then it's bad news for Darmian as Mata seems to have his place nailed down.

Not sure if it's a case of no bloody choice atm. However he has brought these kids in rather than loads of average Joes on high money who bring nothing to the team. So lots of credit for keeping to his philosophy.

Kinda forced by the injury situation but I do think van Gaal would rather it be like this than still have a Nani in the squad on high wages who wouldn't play otherwise
