The guy has been through a lot professionally and personally, think its fair to give him more than two weeks at his new club
.

feckinell. the state of some people here.Kinda feel for Conte. Undisputed #1 target was Lukaku and they were the only ones in contention for him, or at least that's what Chelsea thought. Their board thought they could just camp outside Everton's castle and wait for them to cave in and drop the price. And the rest is history.
Then Conte complains about Morata's form saying he isn't strong enough (Lukaku eh). Add on top his poor performances thus far and then Conte pretty much backtracking / lack of confidence by saying he'd take Kane at this very moment.
And then their board selling Matic to us without Conte's consent while clearly being able to see the frustration on his face as he explains how that unfolded. Plus today's Morata penalty which no doubt has to have added even more pressure and frustration.
...but then again on second thought, I have close to no remorse for Conte and Chelsea. You snooze you lose. Hasn't even scored a goal yet. This is why you don't buy bench warmers at a premium cost, Floprata![]()

HE'S A FAILURE
CHELSEA STATUS = MID TABLE TEAM
DIEGO COSTA STATUS = LAUGHING
CONTE HAIR STATUS = LOST
BULLET STATUS = DODGED
He isn't the same player as Costa. To me he needs to be paired with another top class striker, yet all they have is Michy Batshuayi. That is bad planning on Chelsea's part. He needs help and unfortunately for the lad Chelsea's squad apart from a couple of players is a downgrade on both Juve and Real Madrid. This thread is ridiculous. The season hasn't even started yet, the community shield is a friendly.
If Lukaku doesn't score against Madrid does that mean he's a flop as well?
Morata is a good player no doubt, I do think he's a downgrade on Costa but it's far too early for all the comments calling him a flop.
He certainly won't be a failure. But I think Costa is comfortably better than him. Also we did dodge a bullet, I'd rather have Lukaku than Morata in my team. Not a slight against the player, he'll come good for Chelsea, but, imho Lukaku is better.NO

He's a good player, it's not been the ideal summer for him.
He thought he was joining one club and ended up at another and he's been publicly hung out a bit by Conte. Can't be easy for him.
Needs time.

How has he been 'publicly hung out' by Conte? He just said he needed to build up his fitness a bit, which is natural given he missed most of pre-season.
Plenty of people have had great debuts then proceeded to disappoint. It can work both ways.I think it's fair to say if a mega money United signing had a debut like that the vultures would be out instantly.
He was poor.
Because it's easier to do so than actually reading it.The thread at the outset was discussing what was an objectively poor performance - at fault for the equaliser within 10 minutes of coming on, missing the decisive penalty - and wondering if he'll struggle in a team that was last year so reliant on Costa for decisive goals, particularly given they haven't added any creativity to their team.
He's never had to occupy that role before in his career and, with the mental struggles that are described by many of his colleagues in the article in here, it's natural to wonder if he will struggle to make that step up. You might disagree but to describe it as ridiculous is totally baseless.
The majority of people in this thread are saying exactly what you said...so why you cling on to the opposite extreme opinion as the defining tone of the thread is beyond me.

I wasn't being completely serious with that post. I also didn't see the match.Really?!?
When Lukaku has a bad game I FULLY expect people to post the same things about him as well. Some of you need to chill out, he wasn't even bad today.
Sure we did ..Did we?
So Torres missed a few sitters and a penalty?
Do remember, Liverpool are going to win the league.![]()
£28m.
He's the white Heskey.
Can someone tell me again, what money Liverpool paid for Torresinho ?
ahahahahhahaha I bet that Torres Flop Watch thread is going to be busy today!
Sure we did ..
I think that is the problem a lot of us have. He is a really nice lad. If it had been Costa that had done that we would have laughed because he is an not particularly nice person. Conte is definitely not the arm round the shoulder type, so maybe it will be one of his teammates who has to do it. He needed Mata and Herrera for a group hug. Not everyone is tough or nasty, but can still be a good player. He is a gentleman, I wouldn't wish him ill.
I am not judging him over 25 mins, but his mentality might be a problem. He looked absolutely dejected after the game. If it was Costa, he wouldn't give a shit about missing a pen.
Morata strikes me as a player who needs an arm around the shoulder. I am not sure Conte is that type of coach.
Thanks for the nostalgia trip mate, but how's that overreaction ? He didn't survived mentally in Liverpool, nevermind the injuries, forever in Rio Ferdinand's pocket.Sure we did ..

Miles better purchase than Andy Carroll, we can definitely give him that.
It's too early to write him off but he looked like a duck out of water.
I think Conte will use him more in Europe and come off the bench in the PL to start with, until/if he can adjust to the increased intensity over LoL Liga.
In Spain they talk so low of the PL, especially at clubs like RM and Barca, I bet he thought he would just stroll in and score 40 goals a season.
Wtf is he wearing? He can score off the pitch at least.

I would argue he did fairly well at Liverpool however point of the post is simply to state that it's not fair to judge players on 1 or 2 games. The only reason i state Torres in my original post is because Morata reminded me of his pen. miss and at the time i thought he was going to flop.
I'm so glad we signed Lukaku over him. He's not fit to lace costa' boots.
