Team News:
Steele
Sims
Lawrence
Bardsley
McShane
Jones
Eagles
Timm
Johnson
Richardson
Collett

Subs:
Howard
Heaton
Byrne
Calliste
Blake

To line up like this I think:
Steele
Sims Bardsley McShane Lawrence
Eagles Collett Jones Richardson
Timm
Johnson

Oh and the reserves are playing Villa, with David May, Carroll and Fortune all playing.

Kick-off for the Youth Cup is 7:30pm - so you might still have time to get down there and see Mads Timm and Co. in action.

15mins to go to kick-off of this important match, anyone else watching it on MUTV? Or joining me for the official match thread? ;)

Gary Neville reckons Mads Timm will be a superstar, a top top class centre forward, as he has bags of skill, strength, pace and vision. He really raved about him. He also highly rates Eagles and Steele. And of course Richardson. They're all on show tonight so it should be a great game with an abudance of flair.

They reckon Richardson will play central and Collett on the left, other than that its the formation above.

Charlton:
Delo
Thanda Sanfoka Jackson Gross
Sam Fuler Ndombe Long
Beckford Varney

Good start by United, Sims getting a cross in from the byline.

I'm looking in the crowd for Yaps, but I can't see him despite sadly there being very few fans, much less than were at Charlton. :(

Dangerous through ball by Timm for Johnson to run onto, but the keeper came out well to reach it first.

Charlton have their first attack, a very good cross from their left back Gross, but fortunately their forwards don't manage to get on the end of it.

Eagles intercepts a poor kickout by their keeper, but is brought down from behind, for a free kick which Jones takes but shoots just over the bar.

Evening VanNistelrater. :)

What a backheel from Timm after a driving run! That almost crafted a good chance, Gaz Nev saying how its a flash of what he can do.

Lee lawrence makes a great tackle in the box to deny Charlton the first goal, and after the corner Steele makes a good save to deny Lloyd Sam.

Great to see Timm dribbling in their box (no jokes please), his centre not being converted. Timm on the next attack gets a shot off to the bottom corner which is saved. We're playing good football.

Timm's deep floating role is causing havoc, he's linking up well with everyone. Gary Neville notes that Jones, the Captain, like Keane has all the play go through him, controlling the tempo and keeping it tidy.

Hows things looking mate ?
Have heard lots about Timm do you think he might have what it takes to make a 1st team regular.

I agree with Gary, he's got what it takes to be a super star.

We're playing very flowing one touch football with lots of running and movement. Mads Timm cuts straight through their defence and gets another shot off, again parried away. We're applying the most pressure for sure and Timm's really on fire.

Charlton have quite an international youth team, a few african players there, tall and physical. They look dangerous on the break.

Simms steals the ball off Long in the box before clearing.

25mins gone and we've shown the most threat, particularly from Timm, who again almost scores as he drifts through their defence to be denied by a fingertip save. We need their keeper to slip up, as so far he's keeping them in it.

Charlton apply their first pressure of the game with some good wing work, then we break but Richardson loses possession and they come back at us. We need to score soon while we're on top. Timm just did some nice ball juggling, and heck why not?

Fuler's down injured and receiving treatment, letting us pan around the ground and pick out Rio, Wes and Keano who gives us a wave!

Only 2-3-4000 fans watching according Gary. :(

Terrific cross from Richardson which someone should've got on the end of.

He then whacks a shot from the corner of the box, but its high and wide.

Our passing has now started to become a bit more sloppy, and the game's got a bit more physical, which is not what we want. Some signs of frustration I think, I'm getting a bit nervous now.

Simms is having a good game in defence and attack.

After another good attack Jones gets a shot off and that fecking keeper saves again. McShane has a header cleared off the line from a corner. Wish it would just fecking get in there.

Timm knocked down after he's done a pirouette. He grins afterwards.

Charlton get a break on and Luke Steele comes very far out of his area and makes a sweepers challenge to save us. That was close!

2mins stoppage time.

Timm has his last shot on goal of the half from outside the area but this one's easy for Delo to save. This half has been about those two.

Nice to hear that Mads has bags of confidence on the training pitch and gives all the first teamers loads of stick - sounds a real character.

I gotta be better than Alan Green eh?

I think Yaps is the only person from here going.

Johnson, 20 yards out, blasts it into the stands and hides his head in shame. I hope we get Blake on for him fairly soon into this half.

Damn it, that should've been a goal, great running from Richardson down the middle, spreads it wide, crossed in and after an interchange Eagles volleys it at the keeper.

He's responded to my criticism well by getting the first goal!

Eagles cut inside, played it to Jones who put a through ball across the 18 yard box for Johnson to stop, dummy and slide under the keeper before getting flattened by a mob of United players.

He just did another!

The confidence has poured back into us.

Richardson shapes up outside the box and powers a shot but it goes wide, disappointing as he usually scores those.
