Phew! Beckford slammed a shot against the crossbar! ANd we struggled to get it away afterwards.

But feck that Richardson's scored!! And his t-shirt says "Thats for u dad" - he should teach his son how to spell! ;)
 
It was Timm's through ball to Richardson, who dummied the keeper before hitting home at a narrow angle.

Gary's going to drag him into the first team dressing room tomorrow and conduct a court case over his inability to put his shirt back on.

Timm almost scored a wonder chip, everyone thought it had gone in but the bounce just took it wide of the post by inches!!

Nah not really, he's big and strong but I don't think he'll make it for us, not prolific enough and doesn't have enough to his game.

McShane's had a good game in defence, the Dublin lad is strong in the air and seems to read the game well and goes into his tackles strong.
 
Charlton start to respond and put us under pressure, but we get everyone in the box and manage to keep them out.

Their substitute, Weston I think, looks fast and skillful for a 15 yr old.

Timm, Richardson, Steele, McShane, Eagles, and Jones have the strongest chances. Of course it will depend on what positions we need them in, injuries and fulfilling their potential.

This will be our 12th FA Youth Cup Final, we've won it 8 times, 2 more than Arsenal, but we've not been in the Final for 8 years. About time we did again then. :)
 
by the way, what is Steele like?, didnt we buy him for 500k or so at the beggining of the season. For a young guy thats alot of money isnt it. Must be quite good, oui?

who was the young lad we brought the rights to from Preton NE a while back?
is he still to young or is he on this team?

I appreciate the questions, I do actually prefer to speak to someone. ;)

He's a very good young goalkeeper, England U18 keeper too I think. That Delo of theirs looks very good too on tonights performance! Steele deals well with crosses and dives well too.

Timm is being substituted for Blake and comes off to warm applause, and signs autographs afterwards which Gary going to conduct another court case over! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> Timm has only just come back from injury btw so that will be precautionary.

Blake's awesome btw, add him to that list of players who might make it here. He should've started the game imo.

I think thats who we got Steele off isn't it?

Charlton players pushing us about and the ref not managing at all to keep a grip on it. ANd th ref has a word with Johnson and Richardson (late tackle) over it.

Weston takes a good free kick but Steele gets down well and saves it.

For Charlton, Lloyd Sam, and Miles Weston have shown potential.
 
The crowd was almost 4,500. Maybe thats cos it was an evening game, and the kids who go to these games aren't allowed up that late. ;)
 
The Final is a 2 legged affair, away to Middlesbrough first before taking it back to OT when I hope there'll be a bigger crowd.

Blake's volley gets saved by Delo - we're still trying to score even with 3mins left.
 
Johnson has a shot deflected for a corner.

We're mostly sitting back in numbers now and keeping the ball.

Blake just ran the length of the pitch, past 5 defenders before firing into the side netting. He's a pacy, strong, skillful black centre forward (who's just tried to chip the keeper). He'll run at defenders, and is a clinical finisher.

My Man of the Match, and MUTV's, is Mighty Mads Timm.

Richardson and Simms also had impressive games for me. (Normally Eagles is the 3rd best mate). Jones is the Captain.

Thats the frustrating thing, most of what our first team needs our youth team has in abundance, pace, trickery, flair, running at defenders, wingers - its just they're about a year off, if only our current players could last another year while winning trophies.

I think he was injured, this was his first game back from it I think. Hamstrings again. :(

I only heard abt the Barcodes and Villa having some good youth players at their current rank ... What's so special abt Boro that they have reached the final this year ? ... They aren't normally that good at youth level ( or the seniors <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> ) aren't they . .. ?
