2017 Pre Season | Real Madrid vs Manchester United

I'm amazed at the full scrutiny being delivered in this thread to a match that half our lads look they can't wait to get to the beach.

Really isn't worth much analysis. Was just hoping to see some goals.
agree. Very strange. The purpose of these games it to get fit and create team spirit, nothing more, nothing less.

You see why 4-3-3 is the defensive system for Mourinho? Even with their youngsters, we are playing to contain them instead of taking the game to them.

Martial walks like Leroy Brown - the coolest cat in town from the Crocodile Dundee movies.

I don't understand what they're playing for though.

Might as well be auditioning for a Broadway musical. They've as much chance getting a part as getting in the Real side.

Bale is injured half the season and I'm sure there are cup games etc... Having said that I don't expect to see most of them play for real again.

Pogba and Mkhi been awful today i think. Lukaku been more or less invisible aswell, but that might just be down to the fact we've had little of the ball. Martial the only one to play 90 min?

Especially since it's against Real Madrid's B team.

This game could have done with Mitchell. Feels like us sitting back after a 1-0 lead, like last season.

Results don't matter during pre-season but performances do and that second harf performance was pathetic.

As soon as Herrera went off, our midfield looked hopeless. Maybe this is a wake up call to Jose that the midfield needs reinforcements

McTominay is probably the best player on the pitch for us. I didnt realise the kick off time but have watched the 2nd half, and we have been poor against a 2nd string Madrid. I know its pre season but it looks like the same tumescent football we had last year.
