I was hoping we'd play Matic-Pogba-Herrera for 60 minutes or so. Having Pereira instead of Herrera is the next best thing, and in some ways even more exciting. Would have liked to see Tuanzebe play instead of Blind at the back though.
This formation is why Matic was signed. Pogba and Pereira are going to be allowed to have a little fun I think.
I think Blind will be Lwb and Darmian as the leftest of the 3 cb's.
MUTV have Darmian at the back with Blind partnering Matic, so god knows.

Darmian was fantastic as a wing back for Italy and Torino. Don't know what has happened to him since coming to United.

3-5-2 makes sense given the team list. 3 defenders, 1 right wing back, 3 midfielders, 1 left wing back, 2 strikers. Would be shocked if it wasn't 3-5-2. Darmian being the left wing back.

Played for the U-21's last night against Oldham.
Matic makes this an interesting and possible long term formation.
Stick Perisic in there for Darmian and that looks very strong.
Jose plans are starting to make sense now and I like it.

Surprised by the set up. We have not used 3 at the back many times in preseason. If Jose is looking to use this formation next week you'd have thought we'd have practiced it more.
