In the opposite case it would essentially mean that there is a red card every time the keeper handles a backpass. It is almost always heading towards goal.
 
Can't see why Blind is still on corner duty. He's appalling at them.
 
That's why Rashford will always play on the left of Lukaku in a front two.
 
If I was a manager I would fine my player's a week of wages for hitting the first defender on corners.

That and foul throws, it's infuriating. You're a professional footballer.

Starting games allows one to play with stronger team especially as the preseason go on(Pogba is mostly involved in the first half of games) and it also tells which players are starting to get the nod from the manager.

Notice how all senior players have had more than a single start and only academyou players didn't start more than 1 game along with Martial.

Disagree with that observation, but yes, an argument can be made that if the keeper deliberately handles a backpass that's clearly heading into the goal, then yes, why not?

Blind didn't notice de Gea at the edge of the box, so he played a back pass towards the goal. De Gea races back to punch it away as it's about a foot from the goal line.
 
Who's the fanboi that's co-commentating on MUTV? (Not Paddy Crerand). So far his quips include:

Feels like I'm watching with someone with Footballing Tourettes. Kinda annoying.
