Im with you on this one. We qualified for the Champions League through the league for only the second time since Fergie left and pretty much without breaking a sweat.
It's as close to championship form we've had since SAF. It's very nearly good enough to win you the league most seasons. People don't like perspective though.
It's easier to just call our manager and players, crap, rather than acknowledging that MCFC, with all the records broken, have just had an outlier of a season. Next season, they won't be able to repeat what they did this season and providing we make further progress, our points totals should be very similar.
For the first time, since SAF left, I genuinely believe that we are now ready to win the title. The only chink in our armour is when our players play lesser teams. They really do struggle in those matches. Against the top 6 though, when our players turn up, we seem to be unstoppable.
We set out to win the title every year, that's what you do when you are Manchester United. Realistically it was never going to happen looking at the sauad relative to City's, not just the starting XI but the quality available on the bench. They could afford players out of form as they had world class players chomping at the bit to replace them.
On average I think weve played as well as the squad we have. It's only disappointing if you expected the team to have played better than the sum of its parts or expected Mourinho to be a miracle maker.
