Champions League
Kick Off: 19:45
Tue 16th February

I really fancy us, Milan have been shite these past few weeks. And Nesta and Pato are both doubts, their 2 key players.

VDS

Brown
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra

Nani
Scholes
Carrick
Fletcher
Park

Rooney

I think we will win 2-0.

It will be tight over there. I think we could knick it 0-1 but i wouldnt besurprised by a 0-0.

Code:
[CENTER]VDS
Brown Evans Vidic Evra
Scholes
Carrick Fletcher
Nani [COLOR="Silver"]--[/COLOR] Rooney [COLOR="Silver"]--[/COLOR] Park[/CENTER]

If Vidic still isn't back then Rafael in at RB and Wes in the middle.

Agreed

Really looking forward to this game now, it will seem like a luxury watching this in glorious HD compared to pitiful shitty streams we have been forced to watch on the past few games.

We're in very, very good nick at the moment.

Whether it was a harsh red or not, there can be no doubting that Nani was naive at best in making that challenge on Petrov. He'll likely retain his place though because he has been in good form - he was looking a danger again tonight. Besides, he'll be getting a nice rest now won't he...

Vidic ain't gonna make it. Even if he's recovered, he won't be sharp and an out of kilter Vidic would be bad news... for us. Park is a big game player - no problem with seeing him in the side.

VDS
Rafael - Brown - Evans - Evra
Nani - Fletcher - Carrick - Scholes - Park
Rooney

We'll win this well.

Does anybody remember Park's performance against Milan for PSV in the semi in 2005? Was superb, PSV were horribly unlucky to go out that night. Let's hope he can replicate that form.

We need to attack them down the left because Abate is a woeful right-back.

I'd definitely play Nani. Give him a chance to atone for tonight rather than let him stew over it for weeks.

When was the last time Vidic played?

He won't be 90%, that's for sure.

He can be a liability when he's not fully sharp.

Is right. Infact both Rio and him can be liabilities when their match sharpness is under-par. I'd rather we play Rio and Evans in the middle with Brown at RB. Though I wouldnt mind seeing Rafael at RB again. He's improving with each game he plays.

Where did the other thread go? It seemed to disappear after someone said "Ermmm Everton?"

:nervous::nervous:

Midfield has to be...

-----------Carrick---------
----Fletcher-------Scholes

Rooney up top. Then your pick of 2 from Giggs, Valencia, Nani and Park for the wing. And tbh, thats anybodys guess. Trying to second guess Fergie is impossible

Rio less so I'd say. As evidenced by his relatively seamless re-entry back into the side recently.

In fairness, no player is immune to losing sharpness after a spell on the sidelines.

All in all, Brown and Evans have coped okay and have looked a lot more solid of late - don't forget, they had injuries to overcome themselves.

Thats true, all players do, but a CB cannot afford to. Even if one of them goes missing it can all go tits up.

Yes, they have their dodgy moments but both have done a good job and I wont be fussed if Fergie continues with them in this one.

-------------VDS
Rafael - Brown - Evans - Evra
Nani - Fletcher - Carrick - Giggs
------Rooney----OG----------

He was sensationally good that season. I wished we would sign him and we did. Never been as good attacking wise for us. But still good enough.

I think PSV actually built their attack around him.

Who knows what could have happened if Ronaldo hadn't panned out.

--------Van der Sar--------
Brown-Vidic-Ferdinand-Evra
--Fletcher-Scholes-Carrick--
--Park---Rooney--Valencia--

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, Evans, Nani, Anderson, Owen, Berbatov

With Giggs injured I've put on Anderson, maybe Gibson. Evans as leftback cover.

---------VDS----------------------

Brown------Rio---Vidic/Evans---Evra--

---Carrick---Scholes---Fletcher----

--Valencia-----------------Park---

-------------Rooney---------------

I'm putting money on Milan. If they win I'm up money, and the tie is still alive. If they lose I'm still happy United won

A score draw will be very good for me. However, I expect Fergie to pack the midfield to not concede more than 1 goal.

.....................VDS.........................
..Rafael....Vidic (Evans)...Rio....Evra....
......Carrick...Scholes....Fletcher........
.........Park.................Giggs.............
..................Rooney........................

That would make our midfield solid IMO. We need experienced head first and foremost. And I dont think Nani will play as he hasnt proved himself in Europe. Nani is an exciting player and is on form in creating chances esp, but his main weakness is that he loses the ball quite often.
