How many vs good teams? I remember pool and Chelsea.
Tbh, I'd be happy with a slow burn of a season next year and realistically, I think that is what will happen. We have had 5.5 years of slow and reactive football, under LVG and Jose and that will take a long while to fix.Yep. I've been very critical of our previous managers post Fergie but feck, just give them some time at least. He hasnt even had a summer, transfer window or pre season to properly get his ideas in and turn the squad over a bit. Things were going brilliantly until our players straight up couldnt handle his style physically. That just tells me we need a good window to get his own players in and we'll improve massively. The others fecked up the most by making the squad worse with each passing window, so had to go.
Why? Conte & Pellegrini won the PL in their very first season.Tbh, I'd be happy with a slow burn of a season next year and realistically, I think that is what will happen. We have had 5.5 years of slow and reactive football, under LVG and Jose and that will take a long while to fix.
Look at Klopp at Pool, he showed glimpses of what he was building and it was only the turn of the year in 2018 (he joined in October 2015, for reference) where his ideas were properly embedded and Liverpool looked like they were going somewhere.
I don't think it'll take that long for Ole because we have more funds to play with and more freedom to operate in the transfer market compared to the Scousers but a season to 18 months worth of bedding in for Ole will probably put us on the right path in the long term, much more than what the quick fix of Top 4 this season would do, IMO.
If we can get Top 4 and the EL, while going as far as possible in the cups next season, while Ole properly beds in his tactical set up and gets much more chemistry out of the players, that would be a fantastic season for me.

So? Conte got 93 points with a team that ended up 10th in the season before.Among other things, they didn't have two teams setting a bar of over 90 points.
It's a totally different league now, and Conte is the perfect example of the flash in the pan, quick fix who got a trophy and then completely lost it. We need to give Ole the time to properly bed in to the club, because the jump from Molde to Utd is a massive one. Why? Conte & Pellegrini won the PL in their very first season.
10th because of Mou collapse but had won the title the year before...So? Conte got 93 points with a team that ended up 10th in the season before.

Very true. They've been really unlucky with injuries this season, although I did read a piece on Kane and the ankle injury he keeps picking up. Apparently the way he goes into challenges, as a CF closing down defenders and sticking a foot in which is part of his game, means he will always pick up this recurring injury and he'll have to change the way he plays if he want's to avoid it in the future.
So has he really been that unlucky if he knows this?
So? Conte got 93 points with a team that ended up 10th in the season before.
Yes because it is really the same situation. Can we talk about Pochettino being sacked the way we talk about Solskjær being sacked when we lose now please?
Dealing with injuries to key personnel is something all football clubs have to contend with, especially the bigger clubs who are challenging on multiple fronts, that's why they invest in adequate squad replacements.
Spurs wouldn't be in this position had Levy opened the purse strings and made the necessary purchases last summer. This is all on him.

Yes because it is really the same situation.. One is in CL semis and will ( 90%) play CL next year. Other one...well, he knows the club and smiles. Sure, sure, exactly same thing

Yeah it was a joke...Yes because it is really the same situation.. One is in CL semis and will ( 90%) play CL next year. Other one...well, he knows the club and smiles. Sure, sure, exactly same thing
What?

Agree with this they should have invested last Summer but then the notion of him elevating average players also comes under scrutiny may be he isn't a miracle worker that some here believe him to be but just a good manager who gets best out of some very talented players but he also needs good players to work with to begin with.
Shitting themselves because our manager hasn’t manager Barcelona or Ajax before.
If Poch had been hired instead they’d still be complaining.
Cowards every single one of them.
Things can move quickly in football. There's not a defined rule that progress needs months or years.I'll rephrase. City and Liverpool are terrific sides. We're not getting up to that level within a few months.
Not sure why you're saying this? Conte didn't end second with 93 points, he won the title with 93 points.I find this obsession with points totals to be quite strange.
Only one team can win the league. What difference does it make how many points you accumulate if you finish second?

What I mean is you're on here right now defending Poch when he's on a worse run than Ole yet he's the one you've been questioning.
Right so let me get this straight. When Poch loses it's because of the board. When Solskjaer loses it's all his fault and we should hire Poch. And that's ignoring the fact that Poch had been building this squad for years. On a relatively tight budget, yes, but still. That budget is still 10x bigger than that of Ajax for example. Who they lost to in the CL at home. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a decent guy and a good manager but he's overrated on here. People calling for Ole to be sacked and for us to hire Poch in his stead are, as @Wumminator put it, cowards.
Just woke up from a coma since march?Which is good. Who's shitting on Ole?
Pick from any Of the Ole threads.Which is good. Who's shitting on Ole?
This is a bit of a myth, Poch runs a lean squad because he chooses to, the money was there in the summer for transfers, not £100+ superstars, but enough funds to bolster their numbers with decent players in key positions.
He chose not to do that, so any talk of small squad size, injuries, fighting on all fronts, fatigue etc, all on him.
You're not understanding are you!! Ole has won more points than Poch in the premiership since he became manager. That clearer??That's exactly my point isn't it? You said Ole would have been higher than Poch in the table if he managed the entire season whne you should have just said he just had better record than Poch in this half a season. Assuming we would be higher than Poch in the table if Ole got the job from the start is just as it's, assumption.
We don't know if the great form we had on his start would have been the rule or the crap run we are having currently, so you should have just said he had better record than Poch since he got the job, without assuming things if he got the job from the start of the season.
Poch has spent money, just not this season. You looking at their books?

Poch again today seemed to pump his players up to the max and pushed then too far, we've seen this before against Chelsea, they lose their heads way to easily, lack of composure under pressure.
But I suppose that's on the players rather than the gaffer?!
No,Yes that means he did better than him since he got the job. Your point was if Ole started the season as our manager, we would be higher than them, which is pure assumption. Both are different points.
