Aaron Ramsey

I rated him more than Wilshere before his injury. Looks to have recovered well, right now. How has he played in this pre-season?

Scored a peach today. Other than that I dunno.

Any injury he's had has really been a knock on effect of the major one he unavoidably picked up. RVP is made of glass, Ramsey doesn't strike me as being similar.

Did Arsenal again lost a 2 goal lead, Al?

I must watch Ramsey with my 'irrational hatred for any player that turns us down glasses', or something, because I don't really get it with him. Has some lovely touches every game, really technically gifted, but I've never seen him exert any authority on the pitch never mind control a midfield.

I thought Ramsey would be your type of player, Brwned. Not the best of teams but he controlled it from deep vs Olympiakos and he looked the business in a hot run of form before he got injured.

Prior to his leg break he was in wonderful form.

Good little player.

I don't recon he's as talented as 'shere though who's a once in a generation type for us English.

He's a different sort of player though and they actually complement each other really well.

I wouldn't like to call it, he's a big powerful guy compared to Jack as well as being very talented. At the moment he's looked better in the no.10 role than in CM, and vice versa for Jack (which is the opposite of what I thought originally about the pair of them).

Would be interesting if Wenger just decides to replace Fab and Nasri with these two.

I've seen good games from Ramsay but he's always just been a decent young player for me, haven't seen anything special yet. I also thought Wilshere was the one that liked to play more advanced, get in the box, bang in a few goals etc.

That's how I thought he'd develop but he's taken on a much more disciplined role (prob due to Fabregas and Nasri) and played deeper. He's brilliant in that role.

How good was he today? We definitely missed out on someone special here given the fact that we were so close to signing him. Terrific player with bags of potential and is going to get better from here on in.

Top player, still think he'll end up being influential for Arsenal than Wilshere, but Song Wilshere and Ramsey will be a fantastic midfield for them.

One of the most exciting players in the league at the moment. Watched him closely in the first few matches, and was a little disappointed with him. His form has improved gradually though, and that second half today was absolutely excellent. With Wilshere there as well, and Song still being relatively young, Arsenal still have the makings of a midfield all but ready to challenge for the title again, despite the recent losses of their best players.

I thought the same, England are fortunate that Wenger decided to use Wilshere as a CM.

A bit hit and miss isn't he?

Looked very average today, trying fancy flicks and passes when you are in possession away from home and a goal down is a bit silly.

Thought he was very good still, only brought out the flicks when it was imperative Arsenal created clear cut chances. Fantastic player.

The fancy flick was annoying but was good overall I thought.

I thought he looked very sluggish in his running, had some good flashes early on. But he didn't really end the game well.

Anyone who thinks Aaron Ramsey was good today should stop watching football. He only stopped slowing moves down to give possession away.

Shame we missed out on him. We could have had a huge Ramsey thread filled with drastically contrasting opinions to go with the Anderson and Carrick ones. Would have fit right in.

I would've liked us to get Ramsey but at the moment he just seems like a typical Arsenal player as noodle would say - looks good doing nothing really. The praise he gets regularly is beyond me, he's being outperformed by Arteta every other game I see of him which doesn't suggest he's this top, top talent.
