Aaron Ramsey

If he tried squaring it with his left then it would've been cut out, the defender was very tight. He did the right thing to fool the defender and cut in but then he should've passed to RVP (who was pissed).

If Arsenal weren't already winning, and it wasn't just about FT, I think he definitely would have passed the ball.

Which celebrity will die this week?

Here come welsh slayer (Murderer), A celeb killin' monsta (Murderer), Excuse me Mr. Wenger (Murderer), Aaron Ramsay is back! (Murderer)

Who is it going to be?!

He's looking good this season, better than the 2nd part of last.

Finally. The death pool thread has been too quiet (besides penna's non-celebrity updates).

Stripped of the Wales captaincy. Ashley Williams will skipper the upcoming internationals.

Was a ridiculous choice from the start anyway.

Unnecessary pressure on a young player it was

I wouldn't say so. I think captain could be the making of a young player and frankly, I don't think there really is any pressure in being captain of a country like Wales. If Ramsey is relieved then fair enough but I wouldn't say captain is a bad thing for some young players.

From what I've seen of Chris Coleman as a pundit, I don't think he really has a clue about football though.

There is always going to be presure being a captain at such a young age, especially being captain of your national side. Coleman said that Ramsey is relieved to have the pressure taken off of him. No sure how true that statement is, though.

Agree with the last piece of your post, Coleman is a poor manager. It was always going to be a hard job to take given the circumstances, but Coleman is not the man to continue the good work that Speed had done.

Perhaps I made the first part of my post a bit confusing. I'm not saying Ramsey didn't feel pressure, I'm just saying that if he did that I think it was unnecessary because Wales is a kind of pressure-off side to play for. It's unlikely they are going to achieve much in an international tournament anyway. All Ramsey has to do is be a leader on the pitch, but that comes naturally to some players and maybe it didn't for Ramsey, I don't know. I think some players would thrive with the responsibility. I know I would have if I were in that position.

You're a big man, TH, but captaincy coming off a 10 month break from football due to a horrendous injury isn't the easiest thing. He will be captain of Wales some day. The timing was off.

Bad timing for me. Welsh young team nurtured by Speed were always going to be under the spotlight following Gary's untimely death. He is very young and only back off an injury and it's not surprising the struggled. There was way too much happening there and even a seasoned pro may have struggled.

Shouldn't of been made captain in the first place imo and taking it away now will only further knock his confidence. Start of last season and last few weeks he has started to look like his old self, lets hope he can continue and push further now.

Have we missed a trick here? from what I saw the Lad looks like the real deal, got a feeling we might be kicking ourselves in a couple of years time.

4 years down the line...not a straightforward case of a player flopping, but we are NOT kicking ourselves.

I watch a lot of the Arsenal games - the fans give him and Gervinho so much shit, it's incredible. It's a bit like Nani, almost like they're waiting for him to lose possession or make a mistake so they can get on his back.

I often read the Arsenal forums and he gets incredible stick from their fans. Also it was bizzarre for Wenger to play him at wings in the yesterday match.

stunning productivity so far

with him on that form, Ozil and fit Wilshere Arsenal seem to be a completely different team...

Stunning is correct. What an amazing turnaround.

I'd tipped him to be a better player than Wilshere when he first arrived. I'm glad to see he's on his way to proving that.

He has made a tremendous turn around. Wenger must feel more than vindicated for having that kuch faith in him.

He's done brilliantly. What I like is that he isnt just scoring goals, but he's also made the joint most tackles in the league. He hasn't forgotten to do the dirty work while his name is up in lights on the scoreboard. Thought the Arsenal fans were being a bit hasty asking for a new midfielder instead of him this summer

You're the bloke who said he couldn't pass about 3 weeks ago.

Thank God the curse seems to have been lifted. It would be a blood bath if it was still on.

Excellent player who looks unstoppable at the moment.

I have to say, I begun to have my doubts about him (after previously backing him to a hilt).

Cant stop scoring at the moment. And the rest of his game isn't bad either.

Cazorla is coming back, no Podolski and Walcott too (for what he is worth)

It has taken Ramsey a few years to recover from that horrific injury, it didn't help that Wenger was playing him outwide too. Great to see him start to begin fulfilling that early potential. Better player than Wishere currently (who at times defensively has awful positioning). Redknapp compared him to Viera which I don't see, any better comparisons??

I still don't understand why they kept playing him at the head of midfield. Though I suppose he did make a few dangerous/sloppy passes every game so perhaps he just needed to mature a bit before being given this kind of responsibility.

I've gone through about half a dozen reversals on this. When he was at Cardiff I thought he was a no.10, then he looked like a box-to-box CM, back to playing further forward and now he's in CM. Conclusion: he's a bloody good player who can play all over the midfield.

Ekeke you said you never understood the hype about Ramsey for 3 years straight. I didn't either. I still don't think he's shown anything like this capability to run the game from midfield like people suggested. He did always have a good strike and a great engine and now he's bringing it altogether he does look like he'll be a great box-to-box centre mid.

Well I dont really understand the hype when he was at Cardiff or early years at Arsenal. But I also said he was okay and that I didnt understand why all the Arsenal posters wanted a new midfielder this summer to replace him. Seemed to me they had a bloody good midfield already
