Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey said that Wenger has told him to improve on his defensive positioning. He could learn a lot in that respect from Arteta in particular, his defensive positioning is very good. I think that is something Jack really needs to improve on, he sometimes gets too carried away and starts chasing the ball.

No surprise - this was coming, considering how much more composed he looked in January. Even in pre-season, he was a boss. He tore through a competent Manchester City. He's received a lot of criticism that can't be justified. When you come back from such an injury, it's natural that it will take long to find consistency again. He's the best all-round midfielder in the league right now and has been the best midfielder in 2013 (in the Premier League). Ramsey's only problem is that he doesn't get into position quickly when teams evade his press, that I agree with Wenger on.

Lets be fair, last season at times he was absolutely horrendous. His criticism was definitely justified.

But wow what a turn around. It just shows that form is usually temporary, but class is permanent.

It's a testament to Wenger keeping the belief in a player, and not just sending down the river like many other managers would have.

Didn't he play right mid against us at Old Trafford at some point in the game?

Looks brilliant now though, shows what giving promising young players a bit of experience and faith can do.

Cleverley does this too but he's been much better so far this season.

In the first half of the season, yes, maybe it can be justified, but some of the criticism was over the top. Remember, he was sometimes deployed on the wings, where he was mediocre. The talent was there, it was always about overcoming the injury psychologically. In the second half of the season, he finished off as one of the best midfielder in the league.

His all round game has looked fantastic this season, he's a true box to box CM. Arsenal's Midfield future looks very bright with him and Wilshire.

On current form, he's the best midfielder in the league presently.

We really missed the boat with him, weren't we supposed to be favourites with him being United fan and all before Wenger came into picture and convinced him to join Arsenal by meeting with him in person? We could have had both Bale and Ramsey back then. :(

We could've had a lot of players Sarni, we could've missed out on lots of great players we did get too, it happens.

Yeah but in this case we'd had our bid officially accepted and confirmed on our main site and the player was supposedly keen on signing. Then it all went wrong.

I think he was open minded to both clubs but he is a Man Utd fan IIRC, Wenger bought him in on a private jet and talked to him personally whereas when he came to Manchester I believe Gary Neville showed him around. I think Ferguson couldn't make it rather than him not being arsed, can't remember exact details.

He was fine last season, nowhere near his current performances but the idea he wasn't good enough was plain wrong.

Absolute rubbish - he was diabolical for the first six months and then hit some form. It's easy to say 'oh, people criticised too much' but it wasn't you who was watching him play hospital passes across the pitch, losing it all the time.

He's a young player who wasnt in top form. Doesnt mean "Cleverley isnt good enough" either. You were already strong in midfield

He's been pretty rubbish at times for arsenal. Personally I couldn't why people rated him as a talent. Seems to be coming together well for him now. Let's see if he keeps it up. Arsenal have potentially got a brilliant spine in that central are of the pitch for a long long time to come.

To be fair, he was rather rubbish. But that wasn't as much down to ability as it was to very poor choices, and what seemed like a confused brain. He seems to have found his stride and settled into a midfield role which he looks set to dominate for a bit.

He was quite clearly in awful domestic form, although he was very good for Wales when they played under Speed.

I remember watching him in the past and never being impressed. Wilshire, despite being out injured most of the time, looked twice the player Ramsey was, whenever I watched Arsenal.

This season though his form has been phenomenal. At the rate Ramsey's going Madrid are probably wondering, if they spent a fortune on the wrong Welshman.

He does everything. Even withiut his incredible scoring run his performances would have been quality. He leads the league in tackles (well he was two weeks ago hut has had 5 tackles against Norwich).

I am extremely pleased for him. Would it be too much to hope Diaby can make a sustained comeback? He deserves a clear run without injury more than any player.

This season might just decide his class. Some very tough competition to come at the very highest level, will be interesting to see how he copes.

What's been interesting to note, even in the past 2-3 years where he was hit and miss, was that he always performed very well against the bigger clubs, and better opponents. I remember a game against Chelsea a couple of seasons ago in particular when he was a an absolute monster, much like the player you see now.

Exciting times to be Aaron Ramsey.

You're onto something so important there. Most other clubs' supporters tend to see a few matches here and there and largely base their opinion of players on those viewings and pundits' comments. From the little I saw Ramsey last year, he was absolutely awful and nothing like what he is showing now, which makes this turnaround seem even more special. Arsenal have always had a good midfield, but the one they have now seems to be the strongest in the league. There is pure quality in the starting line-up, and then there is width as well. Still, I think Arsenal is lacking in attack (though Özil seems to almost single handedly to have fixed that) and especially in defense. Overall though, a very good team this season.

IMO Ramsey's main problem in the past was his execution was poor, he could always see a pass or get into good positions but he would mess up after that. He would fancy turns when not required of mess them up as well, could always see he knew what he wanted to do but now he has the confidence in his own ability to do it.

Silly mistake for the first goal, he did look a bit tired today. Wenger wanted to rest him against Norwich and with Flamini also out needed to play him today

Another goal today.

That's 10 goals in 15 games in all competitions this season, 6 goals out of 10 games in the league.

It's everywhere else on the pitch that's the really impressive thing. He's definitely doping.

Making good decisions, making tackles and pressing high, keeping the ball when it's needed. Just looks very mature but full of energy and quality. Looking like a real top player and credit to Wenger for helping him out of a very tough couple of years

Goals getting him the attention, but his defensive qualities have been present throughout the year. Thought Arteta was better than him today, but it was still a very good display. His transformation in 2013 has been fascinating to watch - pleased for him.
