I wonder if Nick Powell could become a similar player for us in time.
It's everywhere else on the pitch that's the really impressive thing. He's definitely doping
Goals getting him the attention, but his defensive qualities have been present throughout the year. Thought Arteta was better than him today, but it was still a very good display. His transformation in 2013 has been fascinating to watch - pleased for him.
He definitely isn't, always been like this for us. Like Flamini the guy can run all game long and never seems to get tired.
Arteta is someone Ramsey needs to learn off when it comes to defensive positioning and clever interceptions
Ramsey's back to where he was when he got Shawcross'd. After that it never seemed like he'd ever get back to that standard, after all that was in 2008. However, five years later and here we are. If I wasn't still a little bit annoyed at the way he wriggled out of coming to United to join Arsenal in the first place I might say I'm pleased for him. I respect the time and effort Ramsey must have put in to get back to his top level and, from a neutral point of view, its good to see players come back from bad injuries. Hopefully Cleverley can do the same and hit the sort of high notes he struck at the start of 2011/12...
I'm not having a go, but Ramsey before Shawcross was absolutely nowhere near where he is now.
There's been a lot of revisionism regarding Ramsey from all sets of supporters, some intentional and some not.
Not as prolific in front of goal I'd agree, nowhere near in fact. But he lost all the authority in his game after Shawcross. As I recall the Ramsey of 2007/08 was a fine dribbler, took up great positions and was a very accomplished give and go player. The Ramsey of the seasons following simply wasn't. Until now. Plus now, as you say, he's added to what we originally saw some pretty good goalscoring. Ramsey today is Ramsey as he probably should've been and would've been 2 or 3 years ago but for the injury and subsequent loss of self-confidence.
I tend to forget Ramseys injury!! feck me that was a nasty one, but well done to him for bouncing back and a lot of players play with such fear after such injuries, but not this lad.Really happy to see him recover from that horrific injury and start fulfilling his potential. I hope we can nurture Nick Powell the same way.
Did Powell suffer an injury?
I have a bit of a man crush on Ramsey.
He's superb. Gutting when you think how close we came to signing him.
He should net Arsenal a pretty penny or two when he moves to Chelsea in a couple of years.
Does anyone really WANT to play for Chelsea?

If he leaves Arsenal, it might be for us as he supported United as a kid.
He won't leave Arsenal for a while anyway.
He turned us down for Arsenal. What makes you think he'd leave them for us now?
Ozil took 4 Liverpool players out of the game with that one pass to Ramsey, excellent vision.
chalk me up as one of the people who thought he never had it in him. I could never understood why Wenger persisted with him, looks like I was wrong.
I can see a few cases of sour grapes on here. He has really been fantastic thusfar in the season.
Hope he has a stinker next week.
Am I just fooling myself thinking that he's bound to regress to his previous average form? He is killing me in fantasy.

I cant believe how good he's been this season. Looked decent when he first went to Arsenal - very neat and tidy but hadnt ever kicked on.
He needs to have a really good season overall though I suppose. Its early days.
To be fair, Ramsey prior to his "Shawcross connection" was already becoming quite the player. The injury really did a number on him with his form and confidence. Credit to Wenger for sticking with him and allowing him to get his confidence back. He was already a huge talent when Utd and Arsenal were trying to sign him.
...Shawcross
