Aaron Ramsey

And with good reason...

:lol::lol::lol:

Seriously gutted we didn't sign this guy now, gets better with every game it seems and he was running things again today despite being surrounded by alot of inexperienced players and the result not going their way. He really took the game to Olympiakos.. he has the potential to be Arsenals Gerrard, and his ability to run a game sets him apart from most British midfielders ..closest british footballer in recent years I've seen to Scholes in terms of his intelligence and ability to keep the ball under pressure and instigate an attack from central midfield.

Song is immense, quality player, Fabianski has alot of potential and his ability to claim crosses under pressure caught the eye. Likes of Wilshere struggled physically and you can see why Wenger has been reluctant maybe to push him into first team football despite the hype surrounding him.

Vela is average, poor mans Eduardo and I'll be surprised if he makes it as a top level striker for Arsenal. He's not very strong on the ball, can't really burst past anyone and just has never impressed me any time he has been given a chance for the first team.

When Fabregas will leave, Arsenal has his perfect replacement and they have another one in Merida

I'm incredibly jealous, wish he played for United, he's just so damn good. Why on earth did Fergie not put the effort to sign him and send Gary fecking Neville!

He's gonna be fecking amazing

 As for Top... he already is.

Top is the gif-equivalent of Giggs, sheer class.

A bit early to write off Vela... Eduardo hasn't even been performing recently, so he doesn't look like a poor man's Eduardo right now.

Agree about Ramsey though, turning into a really good player, the way he just ran that midfield against Olympiakos was brilliant.

I saw about 10 minutes of the Arsenal game and he looked the part...again.

Shame we didn't push that bit extra to sign him.

Ramsey is somewhat the ace in the hole if Fabregas is lost to Barcelona. But lots of things could happen so I'd much rather we were able to retain Fab.

That was an absolute shambolic thing to do. Anyway what's to say we'd have developed him the same way and he certainly wouldn't have got the same amount of playing time here. I think Ramsey made the right decision for his career tbf.

He reminds me more and more of Fabregas everytime I see him play.

How depressing.

When you talk about future top quality players then you only have to see this lad play, to know the meaning of the term.
He makes you realise that we don't have a youngster at the club as good as him - at least not in current form or showing as much promise.

Lads going to make us sick in a few years. Should have done more to sign him. You look around at some of the midfielders we currently have and wonder how we could let him get away.

Maybe we should have hypnotised him?

Alternatively accept that there are all sorts of reason a young footballer might choose Arsenal over United, not least living in London near his mates from the Welsh U-21 side.

It's obviously a massive pain in the arse we missed out but you can't force players to join the club if they don't want to.

I just hope we don't see the Ljajic thread bumped in similar circumstance in a year or two. That really would be inexcusable.

It makes me sick that Arsenal paid £5million for Ramsey, while we payed £18 million for Anderson. And they got the better player.

The issue here is you think both us and Arsenal did everything possible and Ramsey simply choose Arsenal over us for whatever reason. The story at the time was that Ramsey was approached by Wenger, who outlined his plan for him and shown around the club and this was the motivating factor. And it makes sense. You're an 18 year old lad being courted by a lot of club, what's going to appeal to you as a footballer the most? Having the manager personally outline his plan for you, or hearing it from another player (who lets face it has no say on tactics or playing time?).

I might be wrong and the media misrepresented our pursuit of him, but it seems that while Fergie was on vacation in the US, Wenger was showing the lad around the Emirates and THAT's why he signed for them. Despite claiming that he was a united fan, and that he wanted to play alongside his idol Giggs he chose Arsenal. Their case of presenting him with a better footballing future was more compelling then ours, and if the story of how he was courted is true then i'm not sure i can argue he wasn't right to choose the team he did.

You seem to be defending our chase of the player and that's fine, but I personally don't believe we did enough to sign him. How much that hurts us only time will tell.

For 5 million he was a fecking steal. We should have done more. And yes, hypnotizing him should have been considered. It obviously wasn't... :smirk:

How'd you feel when they bought Arshavin for 12 million, while we have Nani and Tosic warming the bench for a combined fee of 20 million?

I don't think anyone really knew he was this good though. Everyone only offered the 5m and Cardiff accepted all the offers. They would now get the 18m too if he was still there.

He's looking better everytime I see him play. Wonder if he's got over his home sickness now.

How do you feel when we bought Evra and Vidic for 12 Mil Combined and Reyes was bought for around 15-16 Mil.

Ramsey is quality though, the cnut decided to join Arsenal even though he supported us and Giggs is his idol. Would have been the ideal Scholes replacement

In his first season with us, Anderson came up against two of the best midfielders in the world and more than held his own, plus contributed to the Double winning success.

I feel great. I love both Evra and Vidic. :)

and I don't really care about Reyes, or what Arsenal do. I just feel sick when we miss out on a good young player and another team gets him for cheap.

Ramsey's development is obvious, there is also clearly a difference between his quailty from when he first joined Arsenal to now.

He made the right career choice IMO :)
