Ajax vs. Manchester United

A good team ^, but Carrick for Scholes and Young for Nani (might be too early for Nani + Young needs to play).

Get a result in Amsterdam and rest more players at home before next two league games.

For anyone that's interested here's how they did in the Champions League:

Code:
[CENTER]Ajax 0 - 3 Real Madrid
Lyon 0 - 0 Ajax
Ajax 4 - 0 Dinamo Zagreb
Dinamo Zabreb 0 - 2 Ajax
Real Madrid 3 - 0 Ajax
Ajax 0 - 0 Lyon[/CENTER]

They only went out on GD and only conceeded 6 goals, all against Real Madrid.

Not an easy game is what you are trying to tell us cw

I just wouldn't play anyone injury prone, but aside from that play a full strength team. Then at Old Trafford, play the team we aren't playing the following Sunday.

Please Cleverley and Scholes against Ajax.

Just bringing it on to the next page for those interested is all robo.

That's right. feck you you fecking feck.

feck.

Yeah fair enough. I wonder how many the 6pm Kickoff is actually good for, not many you would assume but there must be a few fans that might prefer it. Those with early shifts, or late ones.

Edit:

Makes no difference to the likes of me who work shifts. I just so happen to be off that day too so it works out well. Watch United at 6 then City at 8. Mrs cw1984 will be pleased!

No white text here.

Here.

Or even here.

Ferguson:

Smalling looks certain to return, Jones should be fit, Nani has a chance.

Anderson a couple of weeks away...

Looking forward to seeing Jones again but can't imagine how we're going to fit him in!

feck this shite, we should be in the cl last 16, feck off basel.

If we played good enough in 4 of the 6 games then we would be in the last 16. We didn't and therefore we are in the europa league. I want us to go and try win it, it's a shame to see us drop to this competition but at the same time i'm quite excited about the prospect.

How are Ajax doing in their domestic league?

I hope to see us playing like this

De Gea

Rafael--Evans--Smalling--Fabio

Jones

Cleverley--Pogba/Park

Young

Berbatov--Chicha

Sixth in the table, won only one match so far in 2012.

And no board:

A few weeks ago, I told you about the power struggle between Ajax legends Johan Cruyff and Louis van Gaal.

Board member Cruyff went to court to stop former boss Van Gaal's appointment as technical director.

A judge ruled in favour of Cruyff last week but the five-man board, that also included former star Edgar Davids, had to resign.

Hence the Dutch face United without a board in place. But that's nothing compared to their recent form on the pitch.

Saturday's win at Breda was their first this year.

So everyone is available except for Lindegard and the long term absentees, Vidic and Fletcher...?

great news if true.

get some of those who need games in the next two matches and we will be set when the Premiership starts again on 26th.

Sir Alex Ferguson admits Manchester United's Champions League exit has left a bitter taste in his mouth as he prepares for the Europa League.

The Red Devils are preparing for a two-legged Europa League clash with Ajax after missing out on the Champions League knockout stages for the first time since 2006.

Europe's elite competition resumes on Tuesday, with Benfica and Basel through to the next phase after progressing out of United's group.

The Reds won just two games in Group C - both 2-0 victories against Romanian side Otelul Galati - but Ferguson's frustration comes from their performances against Basel.

The Swiss side claimed a point after drawing 3-3 at Old Trafford before winning 2-1 in the final game of the group stage to knock the Premier League champions out.

But Ferguson remains convinced he manages one of the best sides in Europe, as he said: "It was a massive disappointment, because my feeling is that if we'd gone through, we would have gone on to the final.

"The problem was the home game against Basel. We ended up losing our concentration and though we managed to salvage a draw, it was a bad result.

"We dominated the return game, but didn't score and when that happens you don't deserve to win.

"I don't feel we're that far away from Barcelona and Real Madrid. I'm sure we'll show that soon."

We're not a million miles away no. We are a couple of players short of them in my opinion.

Had we faced either in the knockout stages this season we would have gone out. Same goes with Bayern too at the moment.

It would be a tight match, but it could go either way. I'd say we're at the same level as Bayern, at least.

------------De Gea---------------

Rafael-----Smalling----Evans----Fabio

Valencia---Cleverly----Carrick----Young

----------Berbatov----Hernandez-------

I think this would be a strong side, don't think we want to go too weak away from home but gives needed game time to a few players.

One consolation for Thursday night football, is knowing that Liverpool aren't even good enough to qualify, even through the back door!!!

With the exception of nani/park for Valencia that's why I'd go for. I think if we have the opportunity we should try and rest Valencia. Similarly with carrick. If we're winning and comfortable I would bring on jones for him if he's available, move park inside and go for a 3.

Strong team tomorrow, get an away win, play a few youngsters at home.

EDIT: I mean Thursday obviously. :(

Worth keeping in mind that they were absolutely robbed in the home (I think it was) game against Real. Two disallowed goals that were nothing wrong with, if memory serves me right.

Keep thinking this match is tomorrow :(

We might have had 10 days without football if we had qualified for the Champions League, as our first home game could have been next Tuesday or Wednesday, and we would have had no game on the weekend.

Glad I just decided to look at this thread, I had no idea it was a 6pm kick off, that's truly shite.

Just finished packing for Amsterdam. :)

We'd beat Bayern I'm fairly sure of that
